It's too bad that Maryann has to work on Saturdays. But the good thing is that I usually get woken up early so I don't waste the day sleeping late (although the fact that I can if I so chose is good). So this morning I started watching more of Wild Striker. Indeed it was getting really good, so I was happy to have a chance to finish up the episodes I have.

I watched from episode 47 and when I finished episode 50, and tried to open episode 51 it wouldn't let me! I don't know if Angelica didn't completely download that episode, or possibly I don't have the right codec for it (although it says that it was compressed with XVID, and I have the XVID codec)... =(

I double-checked and Wild Striker has 52 episodes in it. So, I think it might have been a good thing that I wasn't able to see 51, even though I desperately want to. Because 52 is not out yet! And then I think I'd be even more desperate to see 52 than I am to see 51. Or even worse, I wouldn't be! And then when it finally comes out, there would be no anticipation/tension built up to seeing it. Okay, I think I'm not even going to bother trying to re-download episoe 51 until 52 comes out.

And in the meantime, maybe I can try and dl that batch of episodes 25-36, so I can watch 34-36.

What to watch next...? ^^

[EDIT: Did you know that Wild Striker (the manga) is written by the same guy who wrote Captain Tsubasa, which is the series for which Ozaki Minami started out doing doujinshi, before she started her own series, Zetsuai, my favorite in the whole wide world!? And now knowing that the mangaka can write a decent story, I'd really like to get my hands on some scanlations of Captain Tsubasa if I can... as well as the anime, I'm pretty sure there was a Captain Tsubasa sequel anime that came out a couple of years ago...]

Amazingly, I'm getting internet service in my room right now. I live in the basement, and there's usually no service on my bed. Heh heh. That sounded really hentai, but it's not what I meant.

Anyway, after some of my posts yesterday, I went back to watching anime. The first 6 or so episodes of Genshiken, which is kind of slow, but very entertaining. It's something to see the characters' thoughts and reactions to manga/anime/cosplay, which are much the same as my own. LOL. I will definitely go back for more, but probably not right away.

After 6 episodes of Genshiken, I wanted a change of pace. I couldn't take it anymore, so I decided to give in and skip those 3 episodes I still haven't seen of Wild Striker (34-36, I believe) and just start watching episode 37. It's really good and exciting and cute, and I just finished watching episode 46. So I only have 5 or 6 episodes to catch up to what's out now. =( What will I do when I'm all caught up?!

I've been trying to get a hold of Samurai Deeper Kyo manga volume 16, but haven't seen it at any of the Barnes & Nobles that I've gone to recently. Although I do admit that the ones I went to aren't ones that have a whole lot of manga selection. I just haven't had time to go to my usual haunts. =( I did pick up volume 5 of Othello, which was good, but mostly filler chapters. It's too bad, I do like the story and hope that the mangaka doesn't go volumes upon volumes dragging it all out.

And I am bringing the GTO manga, that Victor so kindly lent to me, with me tomorrow. I'm going to finish all four volumes this week so that I can return them to him and borrow more! =D

I also have to get my ass over to the library to return some books (that are overdue), and take new ones out! Mercedes Lackey's latest in the elemental mage series, The Wizard of London, is something I definitely have to read, as well as David Weber's newest installment in the Honor Harrington series, At All Costs, which comes with a CD that I believe has the complete Honor Harrington series on it! I am so tempted, but it's $26 that I don't really have to spend on a book I can borrow from the library and just buy when it comes out in paperback. Although I should mention that one of the things I love about Baen books is that they completely allow you to copy and distribute the CD as long as you don't try to sell it. They're so cool.

I had this all written out and the IE ate it. Bastard.

I took my beloved 160g external harddrive over to Angelica's house last night and stole all her anime!

Well, okay, not all. But I did get a goodly amount of anime that I was interested in. I got some of the latest episodes of Bleach and Wild Striker, so I'm very happy that I can continue watching these series now.

Last weekend, I had an urge to see the end of Whistle! again, so I did. But that kind of got me in the mood to see more of Wild Striker. I'm either on episode 33 or 34, but the rest of the episodes I had on the disc (up to 37) were corrupt! =( So now I have from 37 to whatever the latest release was, but I'm going to have to go and find 33-37. Angelica did a quick search and found a batch of 25-36, which I suppose I'll have to try and download this weekend.

I also now have ParaKiss and Genshiken, which I'm looking forward to watching (but I have to watch Wild Striker first, 'cause I'm really back into that right now).

One of the things she didn't have that I do want to see is Honey and Clover, so I'll have to look for that as well.

Oh! And I found those Naruto discs that [livejournal.com profile] suzume_sparrow sent me earlier this summer! And the Prince of Tennis that [livejournal.com profile] zerotwofan sent too! So those are on my to-be-watched list also! (I have a feeling neither are going to-be-watched very soon, though.)

Note to self: ask Will if I can lend FMA to Dave.

Off to Mudvayne concert very soon!

Friday night was cool -- Angelica's birthday, we went to my house, then Uno's, then to play pool. I really love playing pool with friends, but Angelica and I have to make a date to go play pool together sometime 'cause I get so aggravated having to wait my turn. Besides, there's more of a tension between two people 'cause there's a bit more competition going on. ^^ It was me, Liz, Will, Maryann, Raquel, and of course, Angelica. It was pretty cool that Raquel was able to come and hang out. We all had a really nice time.

I was able to update everyone (who didn't already know, namely Will and Raquel) on my new job and training at Nashville. I was also able to ask Raquel in person about coming to Nashville with me. She said she actually might come for a few days 'cause there's a law school down there that she wanted to visit, but she wasn't sure if it's really in Nashville, or if she was misremembering. So it would be really awesome if she actually does!

Saturday -- woke up around noon? The construction guys continued to work on the garage/room. They "painted" the outside of the garage -- the part that frames the new facade, and "holds up" the porch. It's a nice dark grey to match the other greys in the walkway and steps. Went shopping for a new entry door for the house. Doors are fricking expensive! What the hell?! Didn't do much else.

Oh, wait. I did! I watched more episodes of Wild Striker (up to 33, I believe), which is pretty entertaining now. I'm enjoying it very much, although it will never be as awesome as Whistle!, which I've been getting strong urges to watch over. Heh heh. Maybe I can convince Liz to watch it, then I can watch some episodes over while she's watching. =D

Sunday -- went to work at GCS. Barely any business, but I got quite a bit of pricing done. You know, it really bugs me that the record-keeping has almost completely gone to shit while I've been gone. It's really not difficult and it doesn't exactly take up a huge amount of time. I swear, I don't know how Fay managed to own a successful store for over 20 years if this is how she runs her business. It's really ridiculous, I'm surprised the IRS hasn't audited her and found wild inconsistencies. x_x; And how does it NOT piss her and/or Yvette off?! It's their business! Don't they care if their own records are correct or not?! alsjfklsjfs! I suspect it will be a freaking pleasure (in regards to this sort of thing anyway) to work for Russell, a former accountant.

Weekend from Hell The insanity that was this weekend:

Friday was nice --  )

Saturday --  )

While still on the service road of the Long Island Expressway, I was driving along in the right lane (of a two-lane street, plus a lane for parked cars). As I neared the traffic light/intersection, I saw that the car ahead of me was going slowly. So I (using the left-turn signal!) switched to the left lane in order to pass him. But as we got to the middle of the intersection, he'd started to turn left! From the right lane! What a fucking idiot!!! I leaned on the horn the second I realized, and as I can't remember if I braked or not (even if I had, it wouldn't have made a difference if the other guy hadn't noticed/stopped turning left when he did), I'm really glad that he *heard* the horn and was going slowly enough to be able to brake right away. We didn't touch, but I saw in one of the mirrors that he'd only been 2-3 inches away. What a fucking asshole. I was really pissed off! Then Maryann said she thought he might have scraped us. Although I hadn't felt that, I pulled over and checked the car, but no -- we'd definitely not touched at all. *so relieved*

So, [livejournal.com profile] windsorblue -- I'm really glad you're okay, even if that dumbass hurt your car! (And I'm glad that Trowa was there to take over your vocal cords help you through it, even though I know that the Duo in the back of my head would only encourage my spitting rage if I were in the same position.)

So then we continued on to the Bronx... )

Sunday -- boring and unexciting in comparison with Friday and Saturday. Went to work at the GCS store. Watched six more episodes of Wild Striker (20-25), met Angelica and Liz at the mall for dinner, then went home and watched another two episodes (26-27).

*breathes*

I watched Wild Striker episodes 17 through 19 last night! I was feeling like watching anime again (yay!), and, in particular, I reallly wanted to finish watching Wild Striker. However... Angelica never gave me the disc with episodes 20-38 on it. =( So after finishing episode 19, which ends on a slight cliff-hanger, I didn't have any more to watch even though I thought I had the rest at home. Boo.

She's supposed to give me 20-38 today, but who knows when I'll have the chance to watch it now! I have a feeling my weekend will be booked; tonight we're doing something, not sure what. Saturday night is either Yoshi's party or if not, I'm supposed to go over Maryann's house to help her pack after work. Sunday I work in the store. Maybe I can watch a little then, but I've been a bit paranoid about watching anything there lately because I just have this feeling that Fay or Yvette are going to come in, so I don't even bother bringing shinigami because I don't want to set him up. ^^; So that leaves Sunday night, but maybe I'll want to play some video games with Liz since she's back from Chicago and chomping at the bit.

Yoshi, could you please let me know if you're having a party on this Saturday night, so I can plan my weekend accordingly? ^_~; (Oh! And I can't forget to get the schoolgirl lighter from you. =D)

[livejournal.com profile] afuna has not replied to my post about the s2 code fix (but that's probably because she has a life and does not live only to help people with their s2 bugs). In the meantime, I'm waiting for her reply so I can fix the bug in my layout (that I'm sure no one else has even noticed but me). I'm going crazy.

I spoke to Angelica about an hour ago and she chastised me for not watching anime for two days in a row because I might slip back into not watching at all. "Sara," she said in a low, firm tone of voice, "you were doing so well!" I got stuck in the middle of too many things and panicked because I can't finish any of them.

Wild Striker is still unfinished; Angelica has up to 42 on DVD (out of 52 episodes), but I don't have 20-42 because she was watching them. Liz and I watched Initial D Fourth Stage up to episode 13 because 15 and 16 aren't out yet and 13 was the end of an "arc." I have Peach Girl up to 16, but I'm not even in the mood for it right now. And I have 2 episodes of Tsubasa Chronicle to watch, but I'm also not in the mood.

T_T; Well, Angelica reminded me that she gave me all of Samurai Champloo, so at least I know I can finish that.

I also finished the last half of volume 13 of the Samurai Deeper Kyo manga and I would really like to read more. =( Dammit, they take too long to come out with the next volume -- and the volumes are read all too quickly. I really really ♥ that series, I wish they'd made the anime longer -- the manga was up to around volume 18 or 19 when the anime came out; they could've stretched out the anime series a bit! =Þ

[livejournal.com profile] mikomishiranai has joined us on LJ, let's see what she has to say... and if she sticks with it. Ganbatte, Nikki-chan!

I finally finished Beck! Episode 25 played fine, but 26 was a motherfucker! It would play a couple of minutes, stop. Then I tried to play it again, and it would play from a few seconds after the place where it stopped -- for a minute or two, then stop. Repeat process. So I missed a couple of seconds every few minutes. I know I didn't miss too much of the story, but it really broke up the mood of it. aslfjaslashdfljsk! It's such a good show, I really adored Koyuki, but was so disappointed in the way it ended. It wasn't a bad ending, I just want more, dammit! And the whole thing with Ryuusuke (is it Ryousuke or Ryuusuke?) being all secretive and unfathomable sometimes bugged me. A lot. Probably because I liked Koyuki a lot more and just felt cheated out of seeing him because I had to watch Ryuusuke being stupid.

Also watched two episodes of Peach Girl. I had started reading the second half of the manga (which the Americans have called "Change of Heart" even though it's all under "Peach Girl" in the Japanese), so I kind of know what happens later in the series. Boy am I glad. I really, really like the series, but I know that if I didn't know what happened later I'd be horribly upset by the evil Sae-chan! What a bitch! Momo likes Touji and Sae does anything and everything to make Momo feel bad, even besides trying to break them up (and they literally just started going out)! I really like Momo, though, she's got guts and sense -- she doesn't fall for Sae's traps initially, only when she sees what really does look like incriminating evidence. Anyway, I wish I could read the first part of the manga, but since it was licensed quite a while ago, it's near impossible to find it on IRC, and just as impossible to find it in a bookstore to be able to read it there (I'm *so* not paying $10/volume to buy over 6 volumes!).

I've watched up to episode 16 of Wild Striker and I almost wish I'd seen this one before seeing Whistle!, because Whistle is so much better (so far) and even though I'm enjoying WS, it makes me roll my eyes a lot more than it might have if I hadn't seen Whistle. But I'm still enjoying it enough to continue.... provided Angelica gives me the next bunch of episodes because once I get to 19, if I don't have more, I might end up stopping! (Oh, btw, Liz dl'd episode 32 from IRC for you -- she's so nice! So, when you get home, give her a call and if she's home she can AIM it to you since it's on the home computer.)

I have also downloaded episodes 10 and 11 of Tsubasa Chronicle, but haven't seen them yet. And I'm going to try and get back into dl'ing manga from IRC. I really miss it, but I hate not being caught up, and especially 'cause we lost a lot of manga when our computer crashed in February. =(

Yesterday was Liz's last day of school (except for two finals, Friday and Monday) and she wanted to hang out with someone, so she asked Maryann to come over. As a result, both Liz and Maryann were waiting for me when I got home. ^^; We went out to eat and pick up my mom from the train station, dropped her and Liz off, and then drove Maryann to the bus. It was only 9pm, but I was eager to get home so I could watch anime.

God, that stuff is more addictive than [insert addictive drug here].

Liz and I watched 5 more episodes of Initial D Fourth Stage; so we have 10-14 left and still waiting for 15-16 to be released. And it's so good -- another series they insist on being stingy with. In total, it's over 50 episodes, but you can tell that they have to cut some things short in order to fit them to the season episode limit. =( Poo.

After Ini-D, Liz went to sleep. But I was still awake and craving anime. So I ended up watching 5 episodes of Wild Striker. Although definitely not as intense and driven as Whistle! was, it's silly and good. It also has over 30 episodes, so I suspect it will pick up in intensity after a while. I don't like so much the two other players who you know are going to become good friends with Kyousuke and star players of the team, which is odd. Maybe I will get to like them more later. Another part of the "intensity" factor is the presence of extraneous characters. This is what makes it more comedy than anything else, so far. In Whistle, there are barely any characters other than those either part of the team, or those playing against the team. In WS, there are some characters that are part of the setting, but don't really have much to do with Kyousuke's training (which hasn't really been touched upon yet anyway).

::sigh:: It just comes down to the fact that it isn't as intense. But I do like it, and I should have no problem continuing. Which reminds me that I have to remember to search for episode 32 to dl off of IRC or something (apparently all the versions of episode 32 that are available via bittorrent are corrupt). Angelica, you have to email me the website or tag of the group that subs it.

On a side note: these LJ tags are cool although I'm somewhat annoyed because it's kind of what I tried to do with the memories function a year or two ago, but it just got too much to keep track of. And I'm kind of anal, so I hate to just start using it now without adding tags to all of my posts, but I don't really want to go back and add tags to 408 posts (even though that's not many compared to some)! ::coughSharoncoughSparcckcough::
