I'm on the precipice here and all I need is a bit of a nudge. Pull me into your waiting arms, Inception fandom. I miss you bad; I want to squee like I used to, I want that rush of blood, that sensation of overwhelming ~feeling.

Do you have any epic recs for me, starting around oh, a little over a year ago?

I saw the TDK trailer last night when I went to see Spiderman and I practically swooned when I saw JGL. Yeah, you were probably thinking I was about to say T-Hard, but no, JGL totally made me think of Arthur when he says that line about Mal, to Ariadne, "She was lovely." And all of a sudden I couldn't wait for all the Inception/TDK crossover fic that I just KNOW is going to come out of this.

And then, I just started watching that show, Person of Interest and it made me think of Christopher Nolan. Ugh, I'm not even sure why! But then I started thinking about some of the recurring themes in his works, and I... I think I may have gotten myself interested in Inception fandom again, basically.

I also think that when Looper comes out I may have some intense desires for Inception/Brick/Looper crossover fic, which, ugh, I may end up writing drabbles for.

I'm going to be at San Diego Comic Con this year (for somewhere between one and four of the days, so if you're going to be there and want to grab lunch together or something let me know!), and I'm really really hoping I'll be able to go to the Looper panel. I have such a hard-on for Rian Johnson, IDEK.

The quick summary of my reaction to the Spiderman movie, btw, is: Eh. I was mostly bored/didn't feel much emotional connection to any of the characters, but the acting was darn awesome. Emma Stone stole the show, she and Andrew Garfield had amazing chemistry, and the best scene was that suuuuper adorable/awkward scene in the school hallway.

Warrior was pretty amazing. I don't think I can articulate my reaction well enough to do it justice. The basic plot is extremely predictable and the characters are insanely cliched, but. THERE IS SO MUCH EMOTION IN IT. I'm not usually very affected by so-called emotional movies, and there may have been just the right combination of things to get to me in particular, but I'm having an unexpectedly strong reaction to it. My brow is furrowed and I can't make it stop. I just want to sit in the dark outside and smoke five million cigarettes or something.

I don't think I've had this kind of personal reaction to a movie since Grave of the Fireflies; it's not quite in the same league, but it hits pretty close for me. And the only other movie that made me want to smoke five million cigarettes and sit in the dark was Hard Core Logo.

I was with Liz, Juliet and Cathy, but Liz & Juliet had to run home right after the movie so we all split. I'd intended to go with Liz & Juliet but I ended up going home by myself instead and-- I think that may have been for the best; I started feeling sort of... like, my stomach started roiling and I was tearing up on the train home.

I dunno, guys. I am feeling some strong disbelief at myself right now, too.

I don't know if there will be a fandom for this movie, or if some of it will be pulled into Inception fandom, but... IDEK, I was going to say I don't think I'd be able to read anything for it, but that's not true. I'm drawn to read things that make me hurt.

JUST caught up on fskip=180 and YAY I've got, like, three or four new Brendon/Spencer fics to read (also the next chapter in

freece's Captive Prince) and am SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!! I've... sort of been flailing about and reading random Pete/Patrick fics, but I miss my daily dose of Spencer. I haven't quite made it over to read the latest round of BBB yet, though, so there's that waiting for me too.

To be fair, I've actually been away from the comp a lot in the last week or so. I now have less than a week left in NYC before going to Indonesia for six weeks, and I'm not freaking out or anything, but I'm sort of feeling like I'm going to miss ALL THE THINGS here while I'm away.

Also, the money situation really isn't the best, but whatever, I'm just going to have to sort of just plough through the next couple of months and hope the other side will be an improvement.

Going to see Warrior tonight. T-HARD, I STILL LOVE YOU. I'm so happy there's a preview showing tonight so I didn't have to go to the midnight showing on Thursday to see it before my flight to Indonesia leaves on Friday morning. THOUGH I WOULD HAVE DONE IT. FOR TOM.

1. roomies were actualfax awesome and lovely and fun and ALL THE GOOD THINGS! \o/

2. got to reconnect and actually spend more time with the awesome people I met in Toronto! they were all as lovely as I remembered, and then some!

3. met soooo many new people, all of whom were no less than fucking awesome, fun, squeeful fangirls who somehow (it involved lots of arm-twisting, I assure you -- it was definitely not as simple as "you should come!" "okay!") talked me into attending minimerlin in Philly next weekend.

4. a sad thing: I thought the last rangers home game was on Sunday so it was not going to conflict with the con but Liz says it's Saturday so I'm going to fucking miss it. aaaargh why was my memory wrong on this?! I was so sure. T_T

5. SO MUCH META AND SO MANY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS. It's not like I don't know fandom has intelligent thoughts on RL Issues, but I loved hearing about them in person, and hearing people build upon what was said during conversation. I should have taken notes at the sherlock panel (dammit) because there were quite a few things said I hadn't thought of before.

6. someone (whose name I didn't catch) told me she loved my style/look. I.... I was so flattered. SO flattered. style is actually really important to me and I often think my style is only half-hearted because it's very dependent on what's available in my size (and the fact that I have less disposable income now and can't shop like a fiend like I used to) and... anyway, i was so taken aback I could only repeat "thank you". <333

ETA: luce is writing CKR/T-Hard docking fic for my birthday. in return I promised I'd write hellraiser docking fic. WHAT EVEN IS MY LIFE?!!!

In thoughts completely unrelated and somewhat happier-- did everyone get to see the Sergeant Slaughter, My Big Brother short film with Tom Hardy waggling his dick around? And yes, I mean that literally. He waggled it. Like eyebrows. CUTEST. THING. EVER. The video is no longer available on YouTube, of course, and at the time I thought I should save the video to my hd but I didn't do it because I had to run and now it's too late. If you have a copy, please send it my way-- there are people I need to show it to!

OLD NEWS: JGL has been confirmed as Alberto Falcone for TDKR and I will HAPPILY DEVOUR ALL THE BANE/FALCONE FANFIC (and variations thereof) EVER. Basically, GIVE ME ALL THE SERIAL KILLER FIC. ALL OF IT. I'm excited for the possibilities, but I'm also content to wait til 2012 for the explosion. As I'm barely keeping afloat as it is, juggling a million and one Inception WIPs and trying to explore Merlin fic. GDI Merlin fandom, stop being so awesome.

Too many WIPs, not enough updates. Well, that's not really true. But it feels like it because I WANT ALL THE FIC. Here are some you should be reading:

heyheyrenay's can't get enough of you (baby) (complete in 31 parts). Arthur/Eames. It's sort of kidfic? BUT NOT AU. It has a kid in it, who is the most adorable baby EVER (or at least that's what Eames would say), but she's not really the focus of the story, so you should read this even if kidfic isn't your thing. There's SO MUCH TRUST. SO MUCH OF IT. One might say too much, which is where the light touch of angst comes into play. Renay has such a fine hand with angst. I couldn't approve more.

Anon's The Source of All Things (WIP, currently at part 22/?). Arthur/Eames. STEAMPUNK AND MAGIC AU. The story is intriguing and mysterious and epic (please ignore my boner for Author-anon's world-building, thanks), and as entertaining as a Real™ Published Book. If you're into fantasy you should read this. The steampunk is done with a light touch, so don't let that scare you away if steampunk isn't your thing. Author-anon is doing an interesting thing which is sort of rarely done in published works-- you know how usually the relationship is either passionate and rushed into because of the urgency of the situation? You know, the characters are thrown together in a high-pressure situation and become unusually close as a result? Or the other extreme, where the urgency/high-pressure sitch causes the characters to put their attraction on the backburner instead? Well here it seems like Author-anon is walking the road-less-taken: the characters are tentatively exploring their relationship/attraction while the Crazy!Mystery/Situation builds up around them. THIS IS EXCITING TO ME! \o/

Have you seen the new Inception stills yet? If not, go search tumblr. I've reblogged a few, but there are more. PRETTY, BAMFY EAMES,and T-HARD PRACTISING HIS TRIGGER DISCIPLINE EVEN WITHOUT A GUN MAKES ME WANT TO READ MOAR FIC.

Inception Crossover fic recs!

POSTED TODAY: frantic_allonsy's crossover with Merlin, in which the team incepts King Arthur. Since I just saw s1 plus a few eps of s2, I consider this good timing! SO DAMN GOOD (so far, as I'm in the middle of part 2); lovely and subtle and more quiet than I was expecting. AND OH JESUS, ALSO EXTREMELY HOT!<3

ethrosdemon's crossover with Harry Potter, in which Arthur and Eames are wizards. Hahah, this is as close as I've come to being tempted to read the books when I've managed to avoid anything and everything to do with HP (books AND movies). I highly recommend it based on Kassie's usual writing. I probably will not read this for another couple of years. (How ridic am I right now? Yeah.)

butterflythread's crossover with Equilibrium, in which Arthur is a Grammaton cleric and Eames is a sense offender. Lovely and sad and hopeful; it captures the feel of the movie perfectly. <3

finkpishnets's crossover with Brick, in which Brendan receives a visit from a stranger in a dream. I tend to like the ones where Arthur used to be Brendan, but this one's got a unique idea. Slightly more Brick-focused than Inception, and I wish there were more in this verse, dammit.

whiskyrunner's crossover with Mysterious Skin, in which Arthur used to be Neil. All kinds of angst and fuckery. Poor ~~Arthur~~ ~~Neil~~ Eames is all I can say. It's heart-wrenching (as always) to read her stuff, but the end (and the two one-part sequels) are SO worth it!

pyrimidine's crossover with Time Traveler's Wife, in which Eames travels a lot. And Arthur waits. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. I may have recced this before, but it deserves another. I read the book because of this fic. It is so much love, IDEK.

cobweb_diamond's crossover with Burn Notice, in which... I don't actually know what happens because I haven't read it yet and neither have I seen the show. So, yeah. I'm reccing based solely on the quality of Gav's writings.

I just started watching Lie to Me based on a friend's recommendation -- and realizing how similar it is to all the Holmesian shows (House, The Mentalist) out there. Which are, of course, my favorites. Well, so "just" started watching means I saw season 1 over the holiday and am looking forward to starting season 2. It's a wee bit more episodic than I usually like, but am enjoying the characters despite some of the cheesiness inherent in depicting the workings of the main character's talent in reading people's true emotions based on "microexpressions".

So yes, I WOULD NOT BE AGAINST AN INCEPTION/LIE TO ME CROSSOVER FIC RIGHT NOW.
