Top Five: Tattoos (Part 1)

Top five tattoos you'd love to get.

So these are basically some of the tats I already have planned.

1. Murakami's Jellyfish eyes (the colorful ones) on the backs of my arms, just above my elbows, possibly with some of the vines from the last image wrapping around my upper arms a bit. If you couldn't tell from my tats already, I really love color! And if I ever (eventually?) get a sleeve done, I think this would be relatively easy to work around.

2. I really really want to get something of Brom's inked on me. For the longest time I have had the idea of getting Brom's Shade of Blue and Shade of Red (below) on my calves. I'm still thinking about it.
   
   
   
   
3. Inception-related words over the ribs on my right side, under my boobs! I'm going to wait on this one for a while and try to lose weight first. It would be a nice reward to myself. Still, even if I don't lose weight I think I'd still get it done in that spot anyway. That was just where it made sense to me that it should go. Haven't decided on the font or anything yet, though.
   
   Also, I mean, I can't help that some of the ideas I have for tats are very fandom-related, but I really try to choose something that can have several meanings, or applies to myself/the world in general, so that -- should I lose the high level of obsession interest I have in that particular fandom, then the meaning is still valid, still relevant, and has the added bonus of being a fond reminder of a certain phase of my life. I'm very aware of the fact that I tend to obsess over things in cycles and I don't think there's any reason to restrain myself from getting something that represents that high level of emotion, but I like to think I'm looking out for future!Sara by giving myself some extra layers and "outs" should I need them. I'm highly aware of the fact that tattoos are (for all intents and purposes) permanent.
   
   /unexpected rant? (SORRY! -- I think this is a reaction to people who kind of look down with disdain at pop culture tattoos. No one really has the right to judge your choices, but then I'm aware that I don't want to be THAT GUY who makes a really DUMB choice without thinking about it with the respect one ought to give oneself!)
   
   
4. My sister and I want to get some sort of matching/complementary tattoos! We've been thinking of getting words in morse code. She wants to get a cuff on her forearm, and so she was thinking of putting the dashes and dots just above/below the cuff, just very small, following the line of the cuff. I haven't quite figured out where I'd put the Morse code on myself, but I'd also like it to be on my arm somewhere, and even better if it's also subtly following the line of an already-existing tat.
   
   
5. Sakura petals falling across my lower back. Yeah, in that "tramp stamp" spot. HOWEVER! I've heard that if you have a tat there, you can't get an epidural! So, not only do I have to research and verify that bit of news but also (if it's true), decide whether it's worth it. I LOVE kids, I'd love to have kids in the future, but I can't imagine having them anytime soon (I'm 29!) and truthfully, I've never been big on the idea of BEING pregnant. I love the idea of adopting, but that's also more expensive? And who knows what my situation will be like...

I have a couple of other vague ideas; I'd love to get sleeves, and I'd like something on my insteps and I definitely want a BACKPIECE LIKE WHOA! Though for that I've really got to get into a discussion with an artist, and come up with something (SURREAL AND COLORFUL!) that will also bring into it the stars I currently have going down my back.

OH MY GOD, I intended to put the answers for RayK's tattoos in here too, but this turned out to be a little longer than I thought and ALSO I STARTED WRITING THE ANSWERS FOR RAYK AND REALIZED HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM! I only have two written out, but OMG, he's sooooo sweeeeeeet and thoughtful even when he doesn't really think of himself that way! \RayK/

They're the stars on our wrists. She'd actually gotten them done first, and then said I should get them to match, so I did. :D
