I would really enjoy a few days off.
Jan. 4th, 2006 05:24 pmI am currently reading the third installment of The Troy Game series by Sara Douglass, called Darkwitch Rising. I like the characters much better in this book -- they have grown and matured a whole lot, and of course, have changed with the times as well. (This book follows a cast of characters who have been reincarnated twice (so far) over the span of several thousands of years.) It is going even faster than the second book, and definitely faster than the first! At this point, I'm glad that I pushed to get through that first book, because I think the overall story will have been worth it. Unfortunately, this is going to be a 4-book series, so there's still a while to wait til the next book comes out.
If anyone has read her Wayfarer Redemption series, please let me know what you thought of it. Now that I know that Sara Douglass actually writes pretty decently, I'm somewhat interested in a recommendation of this series. Every time I read the back, it sounds... very much NOT my type of story. But the descriptions of the later books sound pretty interesting.
If anyone is interested in reading a "one-shot" of hers, I highly recommend Threshold.
We have tentative plans for Friday night -- to watch the Hong Kong live action movie of Initial D, which is apparently playing somewhere here in the city. I need to see it so bad! I also invited Raquel, so I hope she can make it this time!
