So BROM is going to be at Jim Hanley's on Wednesday, Sept 12th, from 5-6pm.

I'm going to be at that new job at IIE and so I may not be able to get there in time. So someone, anyone who can get there by 6pm has to pick me up a copy of his new book, The Devil's Rose, and have it signed (and maybe ask for a sketch if there's no line, 'cause he'll do that)!!! The book's like $20-25 and I'll give you the money before or after, just let me know if you can do this for me.

Friday lotsa people came over to talk about cosplay -- what we'll be doing for Otakon 2006. I've been assuming (and I think Liz and Angelica, at least, have too) that our first choice might be Kingdom Hearts 2. We have to wait til it comes out, though, before finalizing what we're doing from it (I think). Our discussion was supposed to be about what the back-up plan would be if we decided not to do KH2. Liz, Maryann & I had a couple of suggestions, and we went over the possibilities, but there were no conclusions made by the end of the night. I was pretty disappointed in the lack of progress.

Saturday I started the day off with a fight with my mom. Yay. I was informed by Chris that NYCC was sold out and that they weren't even letting people in who HAD badges. So much for that idea. ::shrugs:: I woke up late anyway, so it would have been... not a waste, but maybe not worth the $25 attendance fee. I'd really wanted to go, though. =( It would've been interesting to go to a COMIC con instead of an ANIME con. And I was going to try to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] eyoko again. =(

But I was mostly unconcerned about it because Brom was going to be at St. Mark's Comics later that night, so it was all OKAY. If he wasn't, I would have DIED over the missed chance! Liz, Maryann and I met Chris, Carrie and Victor, and Tom and er, another girl whose name I don't remember although I think I recognize her from another con. Tom wanted to go eat at A Salt & Battery, but... fried fish... ergh. The guys & Carrie and the other girl stayed; Maryann, Liz and I went to Barnes & Noble. We went to St. Mark's Comics at 8 to see Brom, who was really cool (and tall and good-looking -- I always thought he was short!), and who signed my hardcover copy of Offerings, and drew two pencil sketches in Maryann's sketchbook which made her insanely giddy and giggly and other such words for the rest of the night and at random times thereafter.

We ate at the deliciously yummy falafel place across the street. (OMG, I want their falafels again right now.) And hung out and about. It was a lot of fun to see Chris and Victor again, whom I haven't seen for two whole months! =( (And whose GTO and Bleach manga we still have...)

On the way home, we got into a discussion about the origins of domestic dogs (canis lupus familiaris) as well as the degrees of separation between hinnies and mules (both are the offspring of a cross between a horse and a donkey). We ended up talking about these topics for a good 3 hours, with the help of wikipedia.

I think I did a whole lot of nothing on Sunday. I can't even remember it.

Some OMGness going around. Dunno if you've heard, most on my flist won't care, but Dir en Grey is playing at the Avalon here in NYC in late March. I purchased the tickets this morning and got in to work late (although I let them know I'd be a bit late, so it was okay). Tickets were $29 plus surcharges (came to $38 each), which is kind of expensive for an unknown band, but probably a lot cheaper than it would have been if the concert was in Japan. I, being the kind person I am, bought the tickets for everyone. But now I have no money until they pay me back. =(

I have been feeling very restless again lately. I didn't get to have a full weekend because I had to come in on Saturday, and I had work today too. I want to go out and do something. And I want to see [livejournal.com profile] loudnbothered and [livejournal.com profile] bondagepenguin 'cause I haven't seen them in WAY too long! Are you guys going to NY Comic Con? I'm pretty sure I remember that Chris is... is Victor also? I'll definitely be there on Saturday 'cause my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ARTIST OF ALL TIME, Brom, will be there! Also, he'll be at St. Mark's Comics later that night, so I'll be there too. Yes, I shall be stalker for a day. =D Saturday admission is $25. Anyone who wants to go and hang out together for the day is more than welcome and will be excitedly *glomped*!!!

Also. Saw 16 episodes of Eyeshield 21 last night with Liz. Very very cute. Lots of fun and laughs. It is very lighthearted and I really enjoyed it. It's not serious at all, there doesn't seem to be much angst and/or struggle. I've been more in the mood for angst and/or struggle lately, but it was still entertaining enough. I know that episode 35 just came out, so I wonder if it gets any more serious later...?

Oh, and I need to go back to dl'ing shoujo manga scanlations from IRC 'cause I realize that I have a serious need for girlie shoujo hot pseudo-pr0n. =D (I was up re-reading some of my Shinjo Mayu manga last night, LOL.)

The Limited Editions have arrived! They look great! As of 9/26/05 we have close to 300 pre-orders, now comes the fun part, signing, sketching and getting them to you as soon as possible (since all 500 copies are currently filling up my living room, I am highly motivated to get them on their way). That said, I have to ask you for a bit more patience as the process of signing, numbering and drawing nasty little sketches in each in every one of them is going to take a bit of time.

The shipping supplies are slated to come in next week and my hope is to begin shipping immediately after that. Early orders will go out first, but I hope to have all of them in the mail by the middle of October.

Again I want to thank everyone for supporting my book and especially for going all out and purchasing the Limited Edition.

Hold on to your eyeballs the Plucker’s coming,

-brom

Heh heh. It will be coming sooooooon. I neeeeed it. ::lick::

I feel like I'm seriously behind -- I haven't been able to read my flist today. =( I don't know what's going on with everyone since late yesterday afternoon. OMG! (This is pretty pathetic.)

I've gotten three callbacks on my resumes and have two interviews, tomorrow and Friday, and an open house to attend on Tuesday (just think, [livejournal.com profile] suzume_sparrow, I could be in the Real Estate business too). And then I'll make posts of being cancelled on, etc. Won't it be fun~? LOL.

I don't know why I don't really expect anything to come of these interviews, though. I do wish that some of the more interesting ones had gotten back to me, instead of the agency-like ones.

In other news, I ordered the Brom book. Do you know that they charge shipping too? $8?! So it isn't even $110, it's $118! (Oh yeah, I got my second paycheck, which is how I can "afford" this.) Of course, you remember my thing about no shoe shopping for 6 months? But, but-- Torrid is having a 50% off of shoes already on clearance sale. I'm such a sucker for a sale.

Okay. Since I have to get that Brom book, I am now being plagued by the following. You can apparently ask that Brom personalize the book (with your name) when ordering. So, to personalize or not to personalize?

On the pro side, I'll have a Brom book... signed to me.

On the con side, I don't know. It'll be signed to me. Instead of just having the signature. I just like the idea of having his signature on the page without making reference to me; like, my name will clutter the page, or something.

You may be thinking, "Huh? Why is she having a problem with this? Just get it personalized."

Yes, it's kind of an anal and stupid question. I apologize to any of the flist that doesn't understand why I'm being so silly. ^^;
osaraba: (twice the fun|inuvampy)
Of course, it's pretty much all gone with the bills I had to pay off. But at least my next paycheck won't take as long because "once they have the funds for [me] in the system, it only takes a day or two to receive payment."

Oh god. *sobs* So happy.... money... $_$

I need to preorder that Brom book, but I'll have to wait for my next paycheck (which I'm going to submit today, so I should have it by the end of the week, or possibly Monday, I suppose.)

In other news -- Wow! Everyone's actually coming over Angelica's house on Friday night. I guess it's the prospect of her parents being away, haha. Will, Maryann, Lene, even Raquel (who'll be leaving late rather than sleeping over, and wants to see Sailor Moon), Liz and I. And Liz will be leaving the next day, early in the morning to catch a flight to Chicago for her Student Leadership thing. Her flight leaves at 8am, so she'll probably have to be at the airport at 6/6:30am. So she'll have to have everything packed by Friday night so that we can actually go to Angelica's house and stay late. I wonder if I can get the car so that I'd be able to drive home early in the morning the next day... I guess we'll see.

Meh. Do not want to be at work right now. There are a few pictures from Victor's BBQ, two weekends ago, that I should put up (and send to Victor, as well). I wish I could have copies of those pics from Hidden Shadows that Pat (or Eric?) took. I really have to start work on our cosplay outfits too.

GAAAAAAAAH, when am I going to get paid?! This is really ridiculous now. I've been working here for two months and have not been paid yet. asldfkjsaldfasfdk! It's a really good thing I had some savings and a bit of a credit limit, otherwise I'd be not eating right now. Not to mention, there are quite a few things I need to pay off, for which I'm waiting to receive my goddamn paycheck.

Besides the bills to pay off (of which there are too damn many), I am debating on whether to spend money on these things:
  1. Brom's latest book. It's a 160-page novel, with illustrations. I can pre-order a signed limited edition copy for $110. That's pretty darn expensive for a book. But. It's Brom. I really want it, and I think I'm going to just buy it even though it's a bit extravagant. Now, if only I'd get paid...

  2. Tattoo. Ideas for my eventual tattoos are slowly coming together. I am still stuck on having a particular Uranus/Neptune pic tattooed on me. Most likely on my right arm (between shoulder and elbow). And possibly Shade of Blue and/or Shade of Red in the same spot on my left arm. It's the and/or part that's still undecided, which also affects the Uranus/Neptune positioning. Well, that will wait. I've waited this long, I can wait a while longer until I'm confident in what I want. I am still also considering placement for the Usagi-fairy from the Sailor Moon materials artbook. What I'm pretty sure I'll do soon is get that crescent-shaped grim reaper with the scythe and angel wings around my left ankle, below the 死神の愛人 on my left leg. Small though it is, I believe it costs around $120 where I usually go to get pierced.

Speaking of getting pierced. I've been itching to get pierced lately, so I think I might gauge up to a 6 in my first lobe hole so I can put in those acrylic double-flared star plugs I got a while ago. I'm just kind of afraid to put them in because they're 6ga in the center, but that means the flared parts are bigger... If I do stuff with my ears, though, I'll be sure to post pics. ^^;
