Usually a word that will drive me to the other end of a room. But I'd been thinking lately of cutting my mid-back-length reddish-orange-dyed hair and redying it. Well, just in time for Halloween, I did it.
Angelica made an appointment with a hairstylist she's been to before for today (Thursday) at 3pm. We went, and although I already knew what I wanted (a diagonal cut: short in back, long in front), we started looking through hairstyle magazines. Now, this is for all those GW fans out there, and most especially for our Yaoicon friends: Trowa in drag; he exists IRL!
Just in case you don't know/don't remember, this is a pretty recent pic of me, where you can really see how my hairlooks looked: me with long orange hair.
just before the cut, with stylist Miriam
omg, just look how much has been chopped off already
From there, we forgot to take pics of how it looked when it was dry, but you aren't missing anything. The stylist cut it a bit shorter in the front than I'd wanted and layered the back when I didn't want that, but I have to admit that she has gotten the closest to what I asked for than any other stylist I've been to in my life. And once I blew out my hair my way, it looked much better. Here's after we got back to my house so that we could start bleaching & dying my hair.
hair in front tied off so that it wouldn't get bleached
front of hair dyed black, rest of hair bleached: side view | front view
bleached hair now dyed blue (and spiked up a bit in back)! back view (with some of my new tat, which I'm going to post about soon) | side view
So, it's really freaky and weird to have it so short when I'm used to it being much longer in comparison. And I know I'm really going to miss my long hairsometimes many times most of the time... but I like it and I think I'll like it more after I've gotten more used to it. Of course, there are a few things that are still weird: it makes my face look darker now, more goth... which means, my hairstyle doesn't quite match my clothes anymore, LOL. For the past few months my clothes have gotten a little more punk-ish and now it looks a little off with the goth hair. I suppose I'll have to go buy more clothes to accomodate it. When I have more money. Yeah.
