I accidentally erased the rest of the Yaoicon post that I had saved in MS Word. So now I have to write it up all over again. *grrrr* I seem to take forever with con reports... I don't know why, either. Oh well, you'll all just have to bear with me.
In any case, I was very happy today. If I didn't know better, I'd say I was manic-depressive. Luckily, I do know better. Or I think I do. Whatever. This is OT. I mean to be writing about how I brought my digital camera with me today by mistake (Fay had wanted me to take a pic of something on Sunday, but she ended up canceling, so I've had it in my bag since then), so I took a few pics when Angelica and I had dinner at the mall. I think they came out exceptionally well.
My biggest complaint is that I think I take good photos of my friends and family, but no one else takes good photos of me. Candid shots are best, but no one seems to know how to take candid shots that *look good*. I, on the other hand, 8 out of 10 times, get a really good candid shot. Hmm. Anyway, here's the story:
When we finally decided to leave the mall, we stopped by Claire's (it's sad that they, too, have a website) and Angelica bought 3 16-gauge CBRs in a pack with 3 extra beads/balls. She dragged me over to her house to poke them into her lobe piercings. The 3rd hole was stubborn, but tolerable; apparently, it just wanted to be penetrated from the back (get your hentai minds out of the gutter!). The 2nd hole was a bitch, though; it had had a 20ga CBR in it (whereas the 3rd hole had had an 18ga), so I put the 18ga CBR into the 2nd hole to open it up a little. Then I tried putting the 16ga CBR through, but the skin on the back of the lobe was just not cooperating! I tried to move the skin out of the way, but I couldn't really get at it. So I called in her mom (who has long nails) and she shoved it through, effectively re-piercing the ear in order to get it in.
::sigh:: It was great. Of course, it's going to hurt like a whole new piercing, so I doubt Angelica will have the urge for a new piercing anytime soon. I, on the other hand, am going through that stage where a new piercing (the Industrial) fools you into thinking it's healed, but something happens to have it act up again. In addition, I haven't completely stopped having problems with the middle helix piercing on my left ear.
But getting back to Angelica. I put the third (and final) CBR into the 1st hole in her left lobe. But since that's a piercing she's had since she was a day or two old, it's been stretched out to either 16ga or 14ga for awhile. It slid in with no problems.
A shot of her recently re-pierced ear. It's so pretty! I really like the colored CBRs!
It made me jealous; I want to change my earrings now. Well, I've wanted to change them for a while, but I can't afford it at the moment. Also, I don't want to go through the trouble of gauging up two sizes at once; I already have trouble with several still-sensitive holes, I don't want to add to it. I'd like to gauge my 2nd and 3rd holes up to an 18ga, then possibly a 16ga, but that's it. The problem is that usually, the smaller the gauge (larger number) is, the bigger the diameter of the ring is. I don't like large rings. I think it's going to be really difficult to find an 18-gauge, small diameter ring. ;_; My 1st holes, though, will probably take a 16ga right now 'cause they're also old holes... I might want to gauge up to a 14ga, though, so that I can wear some of the more interesting earrings...
That sounds good.
Unfortunately, it also sounds expensive. Not to mention, today I'd been thinking about what to do for my next tattoo... not that I can afford it, but I've really been itching for another one lately. WHY do I have no money?!?!

Got to the mall to eat. (Taco Bell, yay. Although I think it's pretty sad that they have a website.)
Candid shot of Angelica. (She didn't even know I'd taken this shot until I sent it to her a few minutes ago.)
Not-so candid shot of Angelica's new funky glasses. (I said, let me take a shot of your glasses... ::snicker::)
After we finished eating, we ended up staying to sit and chat for about an hour. Angelica just bought a school planner, so she had me writing in all her paper due-dates and stuff (she likes my handwriting better than her own).
So here I am, writing.
This was actually a great shot of me, I was really impressed. In that shot, I'm actually taking notes in a notebook about what we did on the last two days of Yaoi-con, since I'd deleted the damn post I'd already written.
Now, by the first "candid" shot of Angelica, we'd already finished filling in her planner. But what we did then was so funny that I wanted to save it for close-to-last. I turned to the front of the planner where you're supposed to fill in your personal information in case the planner is lost, and looked at her questioningly. She indicated that I should go ahead and have fun. So Duo took over. Big surprise there.
This is what resulted. (A few things are inside jokes; like Lara Croft being Duo's aunt...)
Here, I enlarged it so that you might be able to see the writing more clearly, and have a good laugh.

Date: 2002-11-05 11:44 pm (UTC)The pics of you guys were great. I hope you'll be putting up more. If we can't get together with you for a while, then seeing photos will be a good substitute! I do like the earrings too. The little stones look mighty nice. It's not enough to make me get my ears pierced that way though. *grin*
