day 01 - your favorite song

Being asked "What's your favorite song?" is a big love/hate thing with me. I love talking about music, especially songs I like! BUT. THERE ARE SO MANY. How can I possibly choose ONE? I'm not sure whether most people just assume that the "...right now" is unspoken-but-implied, but I never have automatically added those words onto the question. It took me the longest time to realize that they could be, and to not feel guilty about it. (Seriously, I know, I am a ridiculous person with baffling neuroses.)

So in light of all that, my current favorite song is Miss Cigarette by Rizzle Kicks. I absolutely cannot get enough of this song. Even when I've burnt myself out on some of the duo's other songs, I can't help but sing along with this one. Personification of an addiction isn't exactly the newest thing under the sun, but I just love Jordan's word play; his lyrics and rhymes resonate with me in a way not many other artists' do.

I always get kind of :/ whenever asked about a favorite anything. Most times I cannot pick one thing! Sometimes I just plain don't have a favorite because I'm ~bleh~ about whatever they're asking, too, which people apparently find weird.

It kind of seems silly now... We all do it as kids and young adults, but at some point it's sort of less interesting to ask "what's your favorite..." than to ask "what do you think about..." or something similarly open-ended.
