Have you listened to Dan Savage's "Savage Love" podcasts (or read the column) yet? So refreshing. His interview with Christopher Ryan, co-author of Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality was great (and it was REALLY cute to hear Dan's adorably giddy reactions to the book).
While I wait for the book to arrive, I should go back and actually finish reading my copy of Desmond Morris's The Human Zoo.

Date: 2010-07-16 11:46 pm (UTC)I've been a fan of Dan Savage since he wrote Skipping Towards Gomorrah (about the seven deadly sins.) His later books The Kid and The Commitment are what made him one of my favourite sex writers out there. I dl his podcast every Tuesday and, even though I'm about a year behind (due to only having so many hours per day), I love listening to him and the readers questions.
If anything, the one thing I've learned is how to be GGG.
Did you know that there is an actual Musical based on The Kid? Part of me would like to see it, but another part feels like it would be like breaking the fourth wall . . . even though he's not an actor/celebrity. IDK, okay?

Date: 2010-07-22 06:48 pm (UTC)Sex at Dawn arrived yesterday but I got home so late I was only able to read the introduction and a little of the first chapter. I kept falling asleep and then reading more and then falling asleep again. The authors have a good voice; it's certainly not dry reading, so I'm please with that, at least!
Can't wait to read more. Let me know what you think once you've read it! =D
