Independent Film Channel (IFC) has optioned the TV movie rights to Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series.

Um.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

LOL I heard about this ages ago. I dont know where its going because it hasnt been mentioned since they signed on to do it. I'm excited in a weird way because I have really low expectations for it. Higher than if SyFy got it but lower than if HBO got it.

Penguin (publishers) did an interview with LKH back in June which I just came across. So who knows when/if it'll actually happen. Still, I've got mixed feelings about it (not surprisingly) -- especially considering how The Dresden Files and Sword of Truth turned out. Granted, an urban fantasy show might be a little easier to produce than a high-fantasy show, but that doesn't excuse what happened to TDF.
