Did I mention that a week or two ago there were a few auctions on ebay that I just couldn't pass up? Well, I got them today and they fit, and they're soooo cute! I'm so glad that I didn't let the nautical/sailor sweatshirt go by without bidding on it, even though it's a bit more than I usually spend on clothes from ebay ($34). But it's sooo amazingly adorable. The sleeves are sailor-cut (bell-ish) and there's that flap in the back with the border and the 2 stars and omgomgomg. Just cuteness.

Nyan!

Drove again this morning. You know, driving is fun. It'd probably be even more fun if I had a license. 'Cause then I wouldn't have to worry about cops doing random car checks. Happily, tomorrow Leo is coming over to help me practice parking. I bribed him with sci-fi books (March Upcountry and March to the Sea by David Weber and John Ringo -- excellent books, which I highly recommend reading while waiting for the next installment of the Honor Harrington series). And told him that he'd better not laugh at my pathetic attempts. I should have made him promise.

Leo is such a nice friend; he came and sat in the car with me while I practiced parking. I was... er. Well, according to him, I improved a lot by the time we stopped in comparison to when we started. Which is good. I still have to practice a bit more, and keep in mind that it's better to be too far from the curb than too close. So yeah. I will practice more at being farther away from the curb. And he explained how to park so much better than anyone else who's ever tried to help me park. Of course, I can't remember what he said to repeat it, but it was just like something clicked, and I just got it. ^^

I picked him up on the other side of Queens College at 1pm, and we went over to Angelica's house to pick her up (she said she wanted to ride along). But she was late 'cause her mom was late, and I felt bad and sort of embarrassed 'cause Leo was nice enough to help me out and I was keeping him waiting. But after that, it was fine. We went parking around our old high school for a little over an hour. I wanted to stop after that, and he pretty much had to go anyway, but I asked if he could help me again, and it seemed like he said he wouldn't mind.

Of course, Angelica took pics:

why do i look so stressed?

Both Raquel and Maryann cancelled for our pool date tomorrow night, so since it was just going to be me, Angelica and Louie, I invited Leo. ^^ He said he'd show, so that's cool, we'll have two each to a team.

After I dropped him off at home, I drove over to Wendy's with Angelica and we ate (we were both starving; I hadn't eaten anything yet), then we went back to my house. After cleaning for like two hours, we played a little of Devil May Cry and Primal, both of which were very entertaining. My mom came home, and around 9pm, it was time for Angelica to be going. I took a chance and asked my mom if I could drive her home... and amazingly she said yes! LOL. I guess it would be sorta stupid to say no when I've been driving my father around left and right, but still. There are differences and all that. So it was cool. I got to drive her home... no walking her to the bus stop (several looooong blocks away), then waiting for the damn bus, and then having to walk back home.

I really need to take the road test. Soon. As soon as I get a little more practice parking, and doing broken U-turns. Yeah. But I feel like I'm almost there this time. And I'm trying to get this done before Nicky comes to NY (late June) so I can drive her to and from the airport rather than having to take a cab or bus or something, which would make me feel really crappy.
