It’s been too long since my last post.

Well, I’ve now seen up to episode 19 of Samurai Deeper KYO, and it’s still been quite good. Kyoushiro came out briefly and so I got to see how cool he’d been in the past – I only wish he would’ve stayed that way instead of being so darn genki. Then it would’ve been a tougher decision to choose between Kyou and Kyoushiro. I was impressed by Kyoushiro’s coolness (as in cold detachment), and his power. And I only feel a slight jealousy that he’s more powerful than Kyou. But I can’t help but hope that Kyou will become more powerful when he’s back in his own body, or by the 26th episode – whichever comes first.

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] gokumew2, for the divx-to-vcd tutorial thing; I’m going to try to figure it out when I get a chance. ^_~

Otherwise, I’ve been reading Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting, which has been really entertaining – especially ‘cause it’s written in the varying degrees of the characters’ Scottish accents (which I have a thing for). If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s basically about a group of friends in Scotland, who are variously hooked on heroin, cocaine, alcohol, violence, and/or other nasty things. The further into the book I got, the more I had the urge to see the movie – going so far as to ask Angelica if they still had the dvd, which had been lent to them by Joe’s friend or something, so that I could borrow it just for one night. Oddly enough, one night last week, I turned on the TV and started flipping through the channels, when I noticed that Trainspotting was going to be on in 5 minutes. So I ran upstairs and set up the VCR to record it – I got it all on tape; complete, from beginning to end. Talk about serendipity.

Last night Liz went to her friend’s Christmas party from 7pm to 10pm. Since the car died that morning, my mom wasn’t able to drive her, so I went with her on the bus and walked her over to her friend’s house. We weren’t sure just when the party was going to end, and we didn’t know if her friend’s parents would be able to drive Liz home, so I sort of hung out at the Barnes & Noble near by, reading Nora Roberts’ latest, Chesapeake Blue, which I didn’t get to finish, but am about half way through. It’s the continuation of the St. Christopher Quinns’ stories, so it’s actually something a bit new and refreshing out of a writer who reuses her old plots and characters way too often.

I know I had some more interesting stuff to say, but I’m drawing a complete blank here.

Oh! Oh! Kathleen gave birth to an 8lb., 8oz. baby boy on Thursday morning – at 7:44am. And I heard that it was a relatively quick and easy natural birth, which is impressive for the first baby, and pretty lucky for Kathleen. They were worried that the baby was going to get too big for comfort. So Aaron hasn’t been to work since then… he’ll probably have bags under his eyes when next I see him. Poor guy. A father at 25. It’s so weird to think that he’s only 4 years older than I am and he’s a father already. Gives me the shudders. He is the oldest of 6 siblings, though, so hopefully it won’t be as scary for him as it might be for someone who has no experience with babies.
