After work on Friday Angelica came over and we did our whole bleach-and-dye routine. This time we used Clairol Herbal Essences Level 3 Bleach Blonding kit -- it works amazingly fast -- it started lightening in no time, flat! Angelica did her usual blue streaks, but I caught a かわいい shot of her with blonde streaks, before we put the blue dye on.

Then we did my hair, but this time we bleached all of my hair and put on Special Effects Nuclear Red. It came out soooo bright! I really liked it, except that the red really did not go with my skin tone! This is me as a redhead. Sorry, it's not that great a shot, so you can't see all of it.

So I decided I'd get some black dye and dye the front of my hair so that it would frame my face instead of the red. So after going to my periodontist appointment, and the supermarket, with my flaming red hair, I bought the black dye (Clairol Hydrience Black Pearl) and went home. And promptly fell asleep. But I woke up early enough the next morning (today) to dye the front black.

So this is the result: front view, side view. At first I was ambivalent, but I later decided I really like it. Not to mention, I also dyed the ends of my hair black, which I think looks adorable! ^_~ Although I really don't like the way my hair looks down, so I'll probably not take it out of the hair clip until it's grown out a bit...

For Yaoi-con, I'm going as Aya from Weiß Kreuz, so my hair was supposed to be all red. But that really didn't work out, so we're going to say that Youji (Angelica) dyed Aya's eartails black because Aya kept making fun of Youji's red cross tattoo. What do you think?

Oh! Forgot to mention that my Industrial has actually been doing better! It got all infected last week, and it was pretty painful. But for the past few days it's been doing real well -- it's been easy to turn, no pain or anything! Of course, there's still pain when I apply pressure to the ear near the piercings, but there's no pain when I turn the earring in my ear (while it's wet & lathered, of course), and there's no real sort of pain like when it was infected.

A lot of people have said that their Industrials have taken a long time to heal (a year, for example). But no one has told me if that's the same as other cartilage piercings they've had, or different. I mean, if you've had other cartilage piercings and they take a long time to heal, then that's your thing. But if you've had other cartilage piercings and they heal quickly, but your Industrial healed really slowly, then that's probably the Industrial. But I can't see why an Industrial would heal more slowly than regular cartilage piercings. I'm hoping that mine will be on average with my other cartilage piercings. That would be great.

I recently got into a mood to listen to Buck-Tick's latest album, Kyoukuto, I LOVE YOU. And it isn't as bad as I thought! Granted, when I got it, I only listened to it in the background, so I didn't really hear it. But a few days ago, I actually listened to it, and I really like at least 3 of the tracks on the album. Some of the other ones are not that great, but most are fine.

I even started transliterating some of one of the tracks. I believe it was track 8, called Long Distance Call -- it's so きれい! B-T songs always have so many kanji in them, it takes forever for me to look them up in my kanji dictionary -- especially 'cause I don't recognize most of them! But it's still a lot of fun to do. And if I really transliterate as much as I can, as often as I can, I will probably start to recognize some kanji off the top of my head. It's the same way I learned to memorize hiragana and katakana; I printed out a table of kana, and read some manga with the table in hand as a reference when I couldn't remember what the kana said. When I first started I could only recognize a pitiful few, but it only took a few weeks, I think, to really remember all of it. Maybe once I start getting more familiar with kanji, I might try my hand at actual translation.

At least now, with the kanji dictionary, I can transliterate lyrics with confidence. Previously (mostly for my own reference), if I couldn't find the romaji lyrics online, I'd transliterate lyrics for myself, but most of the kanji parts were transliterated by ear. Total guesswork.

Well. Have to go clean ear & stuff.

Yaoi-con ETA: 4.5 days and counting!
