osarabaI randomly dl'd a bunch of chapters from the Whistle! manga, and my love and excitement for the anime was renewed. If you haven't seen or read it, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's about a kid who wants to play soccer on his school team, and his drive and determination to become better. Yes, it's a shounen sports story. Not necessarily atypical, but the characters are absolutely the best! =D The manga's 24 volumes, of which I have 14 chapters. Please dl them if you're interested. The anime is 39 episodes, so although it ends relatively quickly (*sobs* T_T) it also doesn't go on forever past its prime (aka, filler).

Did you really get all the way up to ep 20 in Whistle!? Liz says she watched up to ep 8... If you want to see the rest, let me know and I'll mail you a DVD. I finished re-watching the series last night, and I want to re-watch it again already! I love that series so very very very much. crazyobsessed...Yaye for Guitar Hero music! There are certain songs that I am *itching* to play on GH1, but I haven't started playing 1 yet, so... ^^ And other songs that are just soooo awesome. Like Misirlou, John the Fisherman, YYZ, Last Child, Psychobilly Freakout, the Freezepop songs, Caveman Rejoice, Laid to Rest, Soy Bomb, Jordan... I can probably keep going...
Oh, and yes, I should really read the kakairu fic you sent. *sigh* I have to take advantage of the anime-watching mood I'm in right now, though.

Date: 2007-01-18 08:21 pm (UTC)i might have exaggerated the Whistle! i saw... but that just leaves more to watch for the first time, right? i would really like to see it with you. i've been watching shows so much here, and i keep turning around the squee at someone, and no one's there... which is good and bad, good because i look like an idiot when i turn around and realize that i'm looking for one of you guys, but bad because NONE OF YOU ARE HERE.
listening to the guitar hero soundtrack is really cool, but some songs just need to be listened to with a plastic fake guitar in hand... oh and i asked this dude on my floor who plays both guitar and guitar hero and he says that it does make it easier to play guitar hero if you play guitar, partly because his fingers are already used to the movement, but also because he can listen to the actual song and practice how it would be played, because he can pick it out. which he does. someone really likes guitar hero....
as for fanfiction, i understand: go watch anime. but just know that it awaits you, as do i :) muahahaha
