What are you doing for St. Patrick's Day?

Anyone going to see The Pogues March 16-19 at the Nokia Times Square Theater? It's their first appearance in the US in 15 years, and it's the full original lineup! I wish that I'd known about it before the tickets were sold out. =(

I'm not a HUGE fan, so I'm not horribly disappointed like I was in 1998 when Metallica's S&M Tour was sold out, but still.

Anyway, if anyone's going to see The Pogues, I'd appreciate it if someone could buy me a tour shirt... (I'd pay you back, of course.)

Oh, *besides* getting drunk? Not seeing the Pogues, since tickets sold out for every show even remotely possible for me to attend before I could buy tickets. So, just sitting at Siné and getting plastered on Snakebites. Sorry.

I've never really done anything on St. Patrick's besides wonder "is it st patrick's day?" around the afternoon when I've seen 50 million people in green. Then I think of how I have nothing green to wear anyway.

What I've usually done for St. Patrick's Day is yearn to go to a pub and celebrate, but then feel like I'd be a poseur, so I don't try. Then I pass people puking on the streets and don't feel so bad about it anyway. =D

I'd like going somewhere and drinking. Bad thing is, I don't quite know what's being celebrated (something to do with potatos?) and I feel like "does it have to be a pub?". This is the first year i've been so interested in going drinking that it feels good to have an "excuse"... am I turning to the dark side?
