Friday. Well, it was a thing with the whole HP book release. After work I met Liz and parents in Queens to have a bit to eat. Afterwards they dropped us off in the upper East Village and Liz went to her friend's film showing. I went over to that something-or-other Alley on Mercer between Spring and Prince Streets. Angelica, Lene, and Jerry were there. As we were getting ready to leave, we met up with Will and Yoshi! It was really good to see Yoshi again, and kind of odd to see him in NYC, LOL. He had the Eternal Moon Tiaru and Crisis Compact with him and they were soooo pretty!!! I want! ♥ Darn that Scott for finding these things! I told Yoshi that when he goes back he and Scott have to be on a mission to find me some Sailor Moon toys! Hopefully they'll find another Eternal Moon Tiaru ~ it's really cool-looking and has cool music and is way too fun to play with. I really didn't want to give it up at the end of the night.
Anyway, we all took the train over to Astor Place and met up with Victor, Chris, and Carrie, and went to eat at the pizza place on the corner of St. Mark's and Second Avenue. That was lots of fun.
Victor told me that he'd just read my post(s), and that he'd help me out with the car thing. That was soo sweet of him, and as soon as I know I'm going to have a steady job for a long period of time, I'm going to take him up on that. =D I hope I can.
Maryann finally met up with us and we went over to the Barnes & Noble on Astor. Then Liz met up with us while we were there. We spent the next several hours just hanging out in the B&N, waiting on various lines, looking at magazines. I got to flip through some tattoo mags, which I haven't had a chance to do in a long time, and a visual art magazine that had work by someone who is very reminiscent of Brom, and even credits him as inspiration/influence/etc. Everytime I see stuff of Brom's (or like Brom's), I want to have it tattooed on me. If I ever did what I say I want to do, I'd just be a canvas showcase of Brom and Sailor Moon, along with Death and/or Shinigami references. Kind of odd. Well, that's me. ^_~;
Chris and Carrie left sometime around 11pm. Feliciano (friend of Lene's from school) recognized me while I was reading magazines, and I directed him outside where the rest of the group was. Liz, Yoshi, Will, and I had a lot of fun joking about Sailor Moon cosplay while Angelica, Lene, Feliciano, and Maryann were playing some sort of HP "20 questions" or something. At midnight, they started moving the line to distribue the books and when everyone in our party (minus me, Liz, and Victor) got their HP books, we hung out in front of the B&N waiting for Lee & Zoila, who were also getting their books. Yoshi left shortly thereafter, and the rest of us went to the Soup & Burger to have some food/snack things -- that was fun too. Victor and I, particularly, had our minds in the gutter and it turned into somewhat of a double entendre fest for a while. ^_~;
We split up after that and went our different ways home (Lene slept over Angelica's grandmother's house, and Maryann came home with me & Liz -- which, oddly enough, will be the norm soon). ^^
Saturday. Spent the day with parents. Lunch, dinner, etc. Valentine (the construction guy who's going to rebuild the garage into a liveable room, and repave the front walkway) took us to one of the houses a couple of blocks down from us to show us their unfinished basement room (that he's working on currently). It was really awesome looking, I'm so jealous of the room that Maryann's going to have! ^^ (But in a good way.)
Sunday. Went to work, unfortunately. Boring day, but I picked up Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas (sequel to a book I'd recently read by her, Someone to Watch Over Me). Both were really good. Neither pair of hero & heroine were stupid! Yay! I was very surprised when I read StWOM 'cause Lisa Kleypas's older stuff is a little too... *vein twitch* for me. But these are really cute, satisfying, not stupid, and the sex (at least in LSL 'cause I don't remember StWOM too well) is pretty steamy for romance novels nowadays. They seemed to have hit a plateau. I definitely liked LSL better, but StWOM was very good and although it isn't necessary to have read StWOM first, LSL is better if you have.
Later, Maryann's parents drove her over to my house with her 13-year old cat, Baby. ^^ We wanted to do a little visit so that Baby wouldn't freak out too much when Maryann moved in and never went back home. OMG, at first she hid between the foot of my bed and the dresser, then under the typewriter table at the side of my desk, then later on top of the books on the bottom shelf of my bookcase. There were barely 3 inches of space there, so she was all spread out, but curled around on top of the books; she looked like a dragon in a cave. So adorable, I had to take a picture (which will be posted later today). After a while, and coaxing by Maryann, she came out and walked around a bit, eventually venturing into the hallway and bathroom area of my basement. She stayed in the bathroom for quite a while; we can't figure out if it was because it was cooler and darker in there, or if she had to go to the bathroom, or some combination of the two... even though she didn't end up "going" to the bathroom.
I drove her home around 1:30am. Eh, no sleep. =(
For anyone who's interested, I shall upload some Warp 11 songs to my site later tonight. Red Alert is their 2nd album, the music is rock. I'd suggest trying songs from here first as they're not as hard/punk as the songs from their first album, Suck My Spock. Go to their website to read hysterical, witty, and blatantly suggestive lyrics, by album.
