Just watched the most recent episodes of House and Supernatural. NO SPOILERS.

House was okay; nothing happened so much in this episode (ep. 10 "It's a Wonderful Lie") that had me squeeing or anything, though it's been a while since I last saw a season 4 episode, so I was taken aback for a second or two to see Taub in the beginning. I was like, "Oh yeah!" From the little bit I know of the upcoming episode after the superbowl, I think I'll be looking forward to it. I do like Mira Sorvino a lot. ^^

Supernatural was actually pretty awesome! I liked how the episode opened -- not violent so much, but a little horrifying. The show has gotten somewhat darker, and I think they're keeping up with that in mood. I particularly enjoyed the scene where Dean stabs someone repeatedly. Oooh, that was very nice. I like cold and violent Dean. =D

And the twist with Ruby was something I definitely approve of. I mentioned beginning to like her more with the revelation of her first secret; the revelation of this second secret is even better. I heard some rumors of Katie Cassidy going into rehab or something? I wonder how that might affect her role on SPN. Also, this most recent revelation might be pretty cool fic fodder, and it also makes me wonder if what they've revealed might be used in later seasons. I'm trying to not be too specific for anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled, but OH MAN, I could really go for the plot twist I'm thinking of right now.

I read an interview of Kripke in which he said SPN would be going on "hiatus" after the new episodes air. I hope it actually is a hiatus and doesn't turn into a cancellation. ;_;

I also watched Serenity, finally.

Last night I got home early, amazingly enough. They let us out early at work; I could have left at 3pm, but I had work to do and stayed til 4:30pm. My mom stayed really late at work and I was going to pick her up from the train, but she stayed til 2:30am finishing up something for a meeting today, so I told her to just take a cab home. Even so, I stayed up til 3:30am. But at least I was home relaxing.

I finished watching Firefly, which got really good after episode 8. Episode 9 was my favorite, but 10, 11, and 13 were also really good, if I remember correctly. For some reason I didn't realize that there were only 14 episodes. So it's really unfortunate that the show was cancelled at that point because I could definitely see the potential in it and was really intrigued by the characters' personal histories and how they would be revealed. I was less annoyed by River in the second half of the show than the first, but Book still annoyed me. I also like Kaylee a little more; she's really cute, but I still want to throw her out an airlock. =D

And I have to remember to find or borrow Serenity from someone. I'm interested in what exactly they expounded upon in the movie. Does anyone know how much time there was between the tv show and the movie?

I'm also currently reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman, on Juliet's recommendation. It's really rather good. I'm very much enjoying the measured pace of it and the way you don't quite know what the hell is going on. =D I'm glad. I haven't read any of Gaiman's comics, which I know are extremely popular, and I didn't want to be disappointed since so many of my friends are into him. I did read his young adult novel, Coraline, several years ago -- just after it came out, I believe, and while I enjoyed it, there really wasn't too much of a connection there for me.

For anyone who's read American Gods, can you tell me -- exactly what does Shadow look like? I don't remember reading a description of his coloring or features, except for the fact that he's pretty tall, and I have a way of making up my own visuals anyway. ^^;

Tonight a few of us are going to see I Am Legend, so I'm hoping it'll be good. I've become more hesitant as of late in giving my opinion on tv shows and movies, but I will just have to snap myself out of it because there's nothing wrong with having a different perspective. Dammit.

Tuesday night I got home at 3am and had to wake up at 7am on Wednesday morning. Normally I'd be fine on 4 hours' sleep, but with working at the con this past weekend, not much sleep was had, so yesterday I was pretty tired.

Even so, last night I went to the dinner with my Japanese class over at East, a Japanese restaurant on 44th between 2nd and 3rd. They had Asahi Super Dry (yaye~), and the food was delicious! Yummy sliced beef wrapped around asparagus on skewers, shiitake mushrooms on skewers, excellent takoyaki!, the spinach was fabulous, the most delicious slightly-crispy okonomiyaki I've ever tasted. I really enjoyed having so many dishes to pick and choose from!

And it was really great to hang out and chat with my classmates outside of class. There were about 13 of us, including Miyashita-sensei and Asoma-sensei (the TA), and we all switched seats a couple of times so that we weren't stuck in one group the whole night. We met up at 6pm and intended to stay til 8pm, but we ended up finally leaving the place at around 9:30 or so. It's going to be fun seeing some of them again when I take the 5-6 class at the end of January. =D

And OMG, did I mention that Miyashita-sensei can really drink?! LOL. She's so cute.

Anyway, I must have gotten home around 10:45 or so, took off my coat and shoes, laid down on my bed and promptly passed out. Maryann was online using the computer in my room, but I doubt that even had my computer been free would I have attempted to go on it. I was really beat by that time. I barely moved all night, and forget about changing into pj's. Haha.

So this morning, even though I look awake, I'm still kind of bleary-eyed. All I really want to do is go home and sleep.

On Monday night, for a change, I got home a bit early for me and actually had some free time, so I decided to watch more of Firefly. I kept getting interrupted for some reason or another, so I only watched one episode before going to bed. But I realized I've never actually said anything about watching it, so here goes. )

Can we see more of Mal? And maybe throw Kaylee out the airlock? ^_~;
