...but this weekend I've been sort of bouncing off the walls, full of energy and excitement and fun! (Which, let me tell you, hasn't happened in longer than I can remember.)

overly excited babble about how much I enjoyed my weekend! kind of just for posterity... )

So basically TL;DR: everything was cinnamon schnapps and nothing hurt (including my busted knee) and THIS WAS ME ALL WEEKEND:

OMG I don't want to have to go to work tomorrowwwwwwwwww. T_T

ETA: Awesome thing I can't believe I forgot to note was that when we were walking to the car on Sunday morning we passed some guy who had just come out onto the front stoop of his building and I noticed he was wearing a The Sword band tee. I wanted to say something, and hesitated for a moment, but I was kind of like, well fuck it, I'm happy, it's sunny, I'm SO in the mood to go to a concert and I'm SO looking forward to The Sword show in September-- so I said, "Hey, are you going to see them in September?" He was surprised and like, "what?" "The Sword -- your shirt..." "Oh! When are they playing?" "In September, with Kyuss!" "I didn't know! That's awesome, I missed the one that they rescheduled last year!" "Oh man, that one was so good, sorry you missed it! Hope to see you in September, then!"

The whole exchange put a huge smile on my face. I think AJ possibly thought I was adorable like a child. Hee.

Yesterday was an awesome time with a bunch of people getting together for Will's birthday. We went to BBQs in the East Village. The large margarita went straight to my head since I hadn't eaten in 7 hours at the time. But luckily by the time we had to leave my legs weren't numb anymore, yay.

Raquel showed up to hang out with us, which was really nice since I haven't seen her in probably over a year. =D Later, we went to a bar called Cheapshots, which has (can you guess?) cheap shots. (Soco Lime is excellent, btw, but the Red-Headed Slut just tastes like sweet Robitussin.) But by that time my buzz had already gone away.

Angelica stole my scarf. Which she needs to give back right away 'cause it's the one that Maryann's mom made for me. <3

Went home with Maryann, so it was nice not having to navigate the screwed-up weekend-schedule of the trains by myself.

Tonight was also lots of fun, met up with Chris and Carrie and people. I was reading an interesting hard-cover comic in the pr0n section of Jim Hanley's -- printed by the company who publishes Heavy Metal; something about a corrupt Pope/Church? I don't remember what it was called, but I really want to go back to read more of it.

Also, I stretched my left lobe to 3.5mm with glass talons I bought recently. The right one, though, wouldn't go in all the way. I got it in far enough so that it won't fall out, but it's kind of freaking me out a little that I couldn't get it in farther. Since I don't have any lube or bacitracin in the house right now, I was only using a warm/hot compress to encourage the skin to loosen/expand. I guess I'll have to try again tomorrow in the shower. I like the 8g bone talons I had in for the past couple of weeks, but I'm getting kind of impatient to stretch. The unfortunate part about stretching is that you can't wear your old jewelry anymore. =(

Well. I've been busy, busy, busy. My father's still in the hospital with tubes draining the stuff in his lungs. He's getting better, but it'll be at least until Wedneday before he comes home and then he'll be home for a week or two before going back to work. Which really sucks. Not that I don't love my father, I do... but I don't want to wait on him, I don't want to have to do stuff for him, I don't want him to be sick, and stay at home. I don't want to not be able to do stuff 'cause I have to be here to help him.

Wow, I sound really callous, don't I? Ah well. It's the truth.

But in other news... last night I went out with Angelica and a friend from Junior High (ah, the good ol' days...) named Raquel. We went to Chinatown, ate, played DDR (of course), came back to Queens to play pool... which was a LOT of fun, btw. I haven't played in quite a while... I miss it a lot. Next time, it has to be just Angelica and me so we can play a bit more seriously without a newbie slowing us down. (Not that Raquel was bad, just that she was unfamiliar with how to play...)

Tonikaku... after playing for about 2 and a half hours, we went over to hang out at the local fast food joint (Wendy's), but they were closing in 10 minutes. We ended up staying there until they were practically locking up shop. Then we waited another half an hour, at least, for the bus. It never came. We took a cab.

My feet hurt (I had to get used to playing Standard with shoes on). I was tired (got up at 8:30 that morning and here it was 2:45am already). But I was wide awake.

All in all, it was a fun night.

Gods, I really don't want to go clean house now... o.O*

And goddammit! I really want that Schwein CD and I know I'm not going to be able to get it for another two weeks, at least. ::sob::
