I was scrolling down my flist last night and my eyes were caught by one of my LJ tags. I was reminded of those flash games that this Japanese guy Takagi makes, where you have to escape from a locked room. So I checked the website and guess what? There's now another room available! White Chamber is pretty darn good. Maryann and I played it together, around midnight, in the dark. And scared ourselves shitless. There was one part that we worked up a pretty good scream, too. Which was really hysterical because our fright just helped to frighten the other even more. Then we laughed so hard and for so long that our throats hurt.

Please go check them out, they're really excellent! And, just FYI, in order of release: Crimson Room, Viridian Room, Blue Chamber, White Chamber. I can't wait for more!

Also, I told my coworker David about it, and he recommended another flash game called Samorost. For which, we discovered, there's a sequel out as well, Samorost 2.

I actually started playing Samorost 2 first by mistake, and it really hooked me, but I had to stop so I could actually work. So. If you play it (or any of them), let me know how you like them!

Sometime last year, Liz's friend Ming sent her a link to a flash game called The Crimson Room. Basically, you wake up in a room with crimson walls and you can't get out. It's like a bedroom -- there's a bed and a dresser, a window, some other items on the dresser; pretty bare. But there's a way to get out. They don't tell you how, but by exploring, you can figure it out. It was a lot of fun to play!

Then last week [livejournal.com profile] bishsticks posted links to The Crimson Room and The Viridian Room. So I went to go play the Crimson Room again, 'cause it was so much fun the first time. After that I was going to play the Viridian Room, but I got distracted because on the main page, there's also a link to The Blue Chamber and I ended up doing that one first.

The Blue Chamber is awesome! Really creepy and great. It's a smaller room, with lots less to do than either Crimson or Viridian, but I think I might have liked that one the best. ^^

After the Blue Chamber, though, I played the Viridian Room -- boy, that was difficult in comparison to the Crimson Room! And darn it, Liz and I (playing together) only got so far when it was getting late and we really wanted to know how to get out, so we gave in and searched for a walkthrough and finally ended the game. The worst part of it is that some of the things we were missing, we'd clicked on repeatedly, but it just never gave the items to us! =(

But it was fun anyway, I highly recommend these if you like puzzle games, and being willingly creeped out ~ in a fun way. =D
