Gas prices have dropped? I couldn't tell.

The highest average gas price in the nation for regular unleaded among the stations surveyed was $2.51 a gallon in San Francisco.
I don't know who's doing that survey because when I stopped to get gas the day before yesterday, self-serve premium was around $2.69/gallon. I don't even know how much full-service premium was because the full-service regular was also $2.69/g! Self-serve regular was $2.33/g, and that's pretty darn cheap nowadays in NYC! Jeez, it's really disgusting. I remember at the end of 2004, I was thinking how expensive gas was when self-serve regular was around $2.09/g.
In the meantime, I've been positively itching to go on a road trip of some sort. Unfortunately, I still have another year before turning 25 (the age at which you don't have to pay "underage" fees to car rental places). Did you know that within NY you have to pay an additional $115 a day if you rent a car and you're under 25? In Newark, it's $25/day, but still. Phooey.
