After work on Friday I went back to the DMV with Liz ‘cause she found her original birth certificate. So we went, she took the test and passed and got her temporary learner’s permit, so it’s cool that now she can drive (with restrictions, of course), but still.

Oh! Again! While I was at the DMV, K-Rock called me again to say that (in addition to the Bowery tickets), I'd also won the chance to see Chevelle at an in-studio performance on Tuesday! So since Liz is going to the Bowery show Monday night, Maryann can go with me to the Tuesday show. Isn't that great?! I'd been thinking that I wished that I'd won more than just 2 tickets, so that I could take several people. If only there was an additional ticket, I'd ask Angelica.

Anyway, we met Maryann and ate in Flushing and then went back to my house to finish watching Pretear, which was just soooo good. ^^; I might’ve mentioned it before, but it is the only 13-episode anime I’ve seen that ends in an immensely satisfying way. It completely wrapped up, there was nothing that left you hanging, and the ending was just really satisfying and perfect. One of the best mahou shoujo (“magical girl”) anime that I’ve seen (Sailor Moon and Wedding Peach being the other two, despite the gag-inducing name of “Wedding Peach”).

In fact, after finishing Pretear, I was gripped by an urge to watch the Sailor Moon R movie, which I then did. I didn’t get to finish it ‘cause I had to drive Maryann home, and then when we got back I think I fell asleep about 30 seconds after my head hit the pillow. But I finished it last night after Maryann and I got back to my house after hanging out at Chris’s house in Brooklyn to celebrate Carrie (and the absent Justin’s) birthdays.

At one point during the day I got a phone call but couldn’t pick up the phone because I was in the middle of a fight with my parents, but I listened to the voicemail message later and it was from Alex!!! Who was right then and there in NYC! (Which was even weirder ‘cause I’d called him on Friday while I was in the DMV to ask him something, but no one answered at his house, and I didn’t feel like leaving a message on the machine.) Talk about coincidence, when the one time I call Alex’s house he’s already in NYC. Go figure. So Alex and his friend Joe (who also lives in Brooklyn) went to Chris’s house too. So there was me and Maryann; Chris, Carrie, and Sean; Alex and Joe; and Charlotte Ann and Christina from S.I. Justin couldn’t make it for some reason, and Victor had a random, apparently reason-less seizure on Friday night (no joke!) so he was still home taking it easy.

It was a bit weird, but cool, to see Alex again. I feel like he lives in NYC anyway, but I just don’t get to see him all that often. Kind of like how it is seeing Nicky, but I see Alex more often ‘cause he’s a lot closer and goes to more of the cons I go to.

We basically watched the first half of the second volume of Invader Zim and it was sooo good! Not as good as the first volume; if you can believe it, these episodes seemed slightly more random than those in the first volume, but still really good and entertaining. There were some really good ones (gross, too). My main disappointment was the lack of GIR in many episodes. GIR just makes this show – he’s the most adorable crazy robot sidekick I’ve ever seen. And every time I think about him I want to see the Attack of the Idiot Dog Brain again. That is, hands down, the best episode.

So now I’m in the store (wasting time when I should be working). Maryann went to see the new Ghost in the Shell movie with Chris, Carrie, Sean and a bunch of other people. But they came in to visit me after walking to GCS when the movie was over. The consensus: it sucked. And 80% of the people who saw it were are confused. Alex saw it yesterday and it didn’t sound like he was confused by it, but I dunno. (Of course, this makes me want to see Alien Nine again.)

I’m having a lot of fun hanging out with all of them… but I haven’t really hung out with Angelica in a long while and I do miss it, even though we can’t seem to get together and do something.
