Wednesday when I was at the concert with Angelica, Fay called me and left a message asking if I could work Thursday instead of Friday because they'd had some computer problems. I thought about it for a minute, but basically jumped at the chance of having a Friday off because I usually work every Friday from 8am to 7:30pm and sometimes I really hate it. So Thursday I was practically falling asleep at work in the morning before Jeannette came in because I'd gotten home the night before at 2am and hadn't had a lot of sleep even before that. But Friday was totally worth it.

Maryann and I had made tentative plans over email with Victor, Chris, et al. to possibly go see The Punisher or just hang out. But I hadn't gone online since Monday night, and neither had Maryann, so we neglected to follow up on what was going on for Friday. So I sent a few emails out on Friday morning with my cell number, hoping they'd be able to get back to me in time so that we could actually get together. As it turned out, Victor got my email in the afternoon, so we were all set.

But first, Maryann and I met up at GCS, talked to Aaron for a good while, met up with Yoshi, Lene and Will, and went to Chinatown so that I could get earrings from Unimax. (I think I forgot to mention that my star bead that I looooove soooo much chipped in Boston, and they don't have anymore anywhere along 6th Avenue in the Village. =( Unimax didn't have any either, but they had hearts, so I got two of those (unfortunately one of them chipped when I tried to put it in, and the other one is in Liz's earring, so I'm going to see if I can go back and exchange the chipped one for a whole one). Then we all went up to Penang to eat. Victor called when Chris & Sean got to his house, and asked whether we wanted to meet in Brooklyn, Manhattan or Staten Island. I asked Maryann and she chose SI, so we told him we'd be going over in a while 'cause Maryann wanted to get something from the village.

We ended up spending more time in Chinatown than we thought (looking for some Korean CDs for Lene), so when it got to be almost 7, we decided we'd skip the village and just head over to SI. We took the ferry over (and I remembered about Raquel's birthday, so I called her to wish her a happy birthday), and when we got there he gave us directions to take the train to the stop near his house. Did you know that you only have to pay the fare to get on the train from the ferry? But if you get on at one of the stations after that, there's no fare to pay? Isn't that freakyweird?! So when we got off the train, we called him and he drove over (he mentioned at the con that he couldn't drive legally, but he passed his road test that morning! =D) to pick us up with his friend Rocko (who looks like a younger, even better-looking version of the Godsmack vocal).

When we got to his house, we went down to his basement, which completely looked like a basement where a young guy lives. It's a bit of an obvious statement, but it's so accurate that I can't think of anything better to describe it. There were two TVs set up next to each other, hooked up to a PS2, and they had the TV going at the same time as someone was playing a video game, and there was music playing in the background. ::sigh:: What great atmosphere. It was cramped and crowded, but cozy and fun. Aside from Victor, his younger brother Chris (who they call Chip -- and who sounds a lot like Victor over the phone, but for that Victor's voice is a bit deeper, and I kept getting them mixed up everytime I called and then Chip would tease me by pretending to be Victor, that bastard), Chris and Sean where there (from Brooklyn), and also a bunch of Victor's friends from the neighborhood, I guess: Rocko, Joe, Kevin, another Sean, I think there was a Justin.

We went out for "beer and girly beer" as someone put it. (To which I said, what's "girly beer" and they said Smirnoff Ice and stuff like that. To which I said, "Okay, I admit it, I like girly beer." And they said it was okay 'cause I'm a girl. Which is good to know.) A while after we came back, some went out to play hack in the rain, and I went outside for a while... when I came back inside, Chip & company told me that Maryann had missed a few calls on her cell, so I went out to let her know. After that, they stopped playing 'cause it had started raining pretty hard. We should've gone then because it was already 11:30 and Maryann had work the next morning at 9:45, but we didn't. We stayed and hung out until around 1:15 when Chris and Sean were leaving to go back to Brooklyn. Victor has cool/nice/funny/weird friends. I guess, same as anyone, but they're fun to hang out with, so that's awesome.

We took the bus with them to Brooklyn (which was interesting since Sean was sloppy/funny drunk after 2 40-ounces and was leaning all over me), which dropped us right in front of the R train. But we had to take it all the way through Brooklyn (which took quite a while). Maryann transferred at Union Square and I transferred at Times Square... having to take a cab from Continental because the last bus is at 2am, and getting home at 4am! I called Maryann and she said she'd bumped into a friend coming off the train and they were walking home together. So I said okay, and basically crashed into bed at around 4:10. At 4:45 I was woken up by my cell phone because Maryann was hiding behind the tree of her house, afraid to go in because her father hadn't left for work yet and she didn't want him to see her getting home at that time. Poor Maryann. She messaged her mom, who said to come in, and went inside to crash. Meanwhile, I'd already fallen back to sleep.

What a wonderful night.

Oh, but no pics 'cause like an idiot I left my memory card in the computer. Although I probably wouldn't have taken pics anyway 'cause it didn't really feel that way.

I realized that I really should make a happy sort of LJ icon.
