But isn't that how it always is?
I don't remember (if indeed I even knew to begin with) how this came up, but Angelica mentioned wanting to combine our separate AT&T Wireless phone plans into a "shared plan" because we mostly talk to each other anyway. Right now we both have the $34.99/month National Network plan (which includes: 500 anytime minutes, a few thousand nights/weekend minutes, free long distance and free roaming within most of the US). The regular digital shared plan actually sucks, so (after lots of legwork and information-gathering) I threw that idea out the airlock (which is too bad 'cause it came with 500 anytime minutes to share, 1000 nights/weekends, but 1000 mobile-to-mobile minutes!).
But AT&T has these new phones with "Next Generation Technology" with a new promotion where, if you get a regular GSM (I don't know what it stands for) plan, you can add another line to the account for only $20. With this plan, we'd get 550 anytime minutes (to share), unlimited nights/weekend minutes, and 500 mobile-to-mobile minutes. So basically; 250 minutes to call each other with and 275 minutes to call each other and anyone else. The plan's pretty good, although it's too bad it isn't 1000 mobile-to-mobile minutes like the digital shared plan.
But anyway, if we converted to the GSM shared plan, we'd have to get the new phones with the "Next Generation Technology". These are our choices (oh, and we both basically only like Nokia, so we didn't really consider anything else): 3590 or 8390.
I like both of them, but I have an obsession with wanting a little space to put a hangy-charm on my phone, and only the 8390 (of the two choices) has it. Unfortunately, the 8390 is $80 after a discount, but the 3590 is free after a $100 rebate. So, I've resorted to ebay, where I hope to win an 8390 for $50 or less (which I can't really afford anyway because I just bought a Japanese <-> English electronic dictionary from Yahoo!Japan ^^;). If I don't, I'll just have to resign myself to the 3590. ::sigh:: I really want a hangy-charm-thing. ;_;
So after walking around the Village a bit (from one AT&T Wireless store to another, all with different answers for the same questions), we went over to Wheels of London because she wanted to. Big damn mistake. They're still having their sale, so Angelica ended up buying a $50 pair of Fly ankle-boots in blue (which are soooo kirei), and I got a pair of Fly sneakerish high-top shoes that look like a pair of red Converse with a modest 1.5-inch platform. They're soooo adorable! I'll make sure to post a pic soon! Oh, and did I mention that they were only $30?! And since they're the less expensive pair, I got half off? (But I gave Angelica $20 for my share 'cause I'm so nice like that.) ::coughsuckercough::
After that, we stopped by Crazy Fantasy (where we usually get our ears pierced) to ask a few things... Angelica asked the Foo Fighters-guy-lookalike-piercer for his opinion on the placement of an industrial piercing in her ear. (Which I'm very disappointed about 'cause I thought I'd gotten my feelings across that I would rather have our ear projects look as different as possible for as long as possible...!!) And then I'd wanted to ask how much a nipple piercing would be, but I forgot. I don't know if I'll really get one, but I keep thinking about it.
But I did get to ask what length to change my straight barbell to, now that it's healed and doesn't need the extra space to move around in my ear. The Foo Fighters-guy-lookalike-piercer said a 1.5-inch barbell. I asked how much. He said it's normally $25, but since I'd had it pierced there he'd do it for $20. I think I must have made a face 'cause then he said he'd do it for me for $15. (Oh, and did I mention that he recognizes us now? LOL.) And I got all disappointed because I really don't have the money right now, and I said that I don't have any money with me today. He said, no problem -- he'd do it whenever I wanted for the $15. Kyaaa! Kakkoii, ne?!
And I've been planning to go there on Saturday to get something pierced 'cause it'll be the 2nd anniversary of my first cartilage piercing! ^_~ And although I'll bring my own CBR (which will lower the cost from $25 to $15), I still don't really have the money to spend $30 for the $15 piercing (4th hole in right lobe) PLUS $15 to change the barbell.
;_;
I hate saving for cons. I hate not having a well-paying job. But then again, I'd die if I couldn't go to cons and have fun and see Sharon and DC and Susan. And I think I might explode if I ever have to dress conservatively for a well-paying job.
It's a no-win situation. Welcome to my life.
On the brighter side, I may have just come to a real decision on what I'd like to do for a backpiece tattoo. =D

Date: 2003-03-14 07:40 pm (UTC)As for SDK, yep, the new charas seemed really interesting. It's a shame they couldn't make the anime a longer one. I mean, with all the comparisons to Rurouni Kenshin flying about, you'd think they'd at least try and do a second season. But nooooo. The manga's up to volume 19 and still going... it actually seems quite interesting. ^^

Date: 2003-03-15 12:31 am (UTC)I'd love to see the manga some day. I'd try to collect it, but I don't have room for more books. I live with a pack rat who won't let me give some of my books away. I need an addition to my house for all the stuff I'd like to collect!

Date: 2003-03-15 10:07 am (UTC)I noticed; you're just soooo into YAOI that you've completely thrown aside the girls! LOL! Actually, I like quite a few anime girls -- overall, I did like Kaoru from Kenshin, she's really sweet once you get more into the story. And I actually like Yuya a lot. ^_~ I think she's a pretty strong female chara, which is definitely a requirement, and I especially like that Kyo -- even though he likes her -- doesn't turn into a silly spineless puddle of mush that can't get things done, around her. He's pretty much the same. ^^ Of course, there are many anime girls that I don't like... Miaka ::shudders:: from Fushigi Yuugi.
I can't even go on, I just keep shuddering over Miaka. ::shudders::
