Bigger than I expected...
Feb. 17th, 2003 12:20 pmThe weather had called for more snow, but I didn't realize it was going to be this much! I actually really love snow, so it's not that I'm annoyed by that, it's just that I'm annoyed at having to miss work 'cause I can't really afford it. Grrrr!
The weather stripping at the bottom of the front door had come off sometime during the summer, and we'd just been too lazy to put on more, even though my mom had bought a door sweep & weather stripping to replace it. But we finally did it last night, and it looks like we did it just in time 'cause it really does keep a lot of the cold out. Angelica will be happy to know that it's quite a bit warmer in the living room/1st floor now.

Hm.
View of street from my front door
Only a few inches so far (of course, this is at my front door which is under a canopy).

Anyway, I forgot to post a few pics in my last post about our Schreient costumes for Yuricon. As I said, Angelica wants to be Neu, and so has to get sunglasses that match hers. Luckily, Angelica's mom works at an eyeglass store (and has for the past 15-20 years). So she asked her mom, who came out with a big bag of sunglasses, and there were two choices that she came up with. Angelica took pics of herself and sent them to me to show me, and to ask which I thought was better.

My reply to her (over AIM) was that if she could combine the shape of the first one, with the color of the second, it'd be perfect. But since she can't actually do that, I'd pick the second 'cause it just looks better, not to mention, a bit closer in general to the look of Neu's glasses.
And then I said, "BTW, did I mention how adorable you look in those glasses?" ^_~ Doesn't she, though? Too cute! So I told her I was going to post the pictures in my LJ. ^^
I finally took the sewing machine out of the garage and set it up in my room, so I finished making one of my jeans into wide-legs and another into flares. ^^ I like them so much better now. Then last night, I drew out what I wanted for the Buck-Tick patch that I've wanted to make for a few months, and tried to separate two strands of embroidery floss in order to thread the needle. Of course, separating embroidery floss is a nightmare and took at least 1/2 hour by itself. ::sigh:: After which I started the "B" in Buck-Tick, just to have the patch started a bit. I'll definitely post a pic of it when I'm done. ^^
