I'm not from your country.
Dec. 5th, 2002 02:29 amSo. Tuesday night we went over to the Borders on 57th & Lex to see Eddie Izzard, hysterical British comedian. After standing on line for the Queer as Folk signing last year for several hours (I think it was just about 5 hours?), we arrived 2 hours early, despite having not eaten. We stood in the piping hot basement floor of the place, chatting and waiting for the man to arrive -- scheduled for 6:30.
That was the hard part.
When he arrived -- on time -- he did about 15 mintues of a half Q&A session, half stand-up improv. Which was great. He had his beard, but for some reason -- I thought -- looked much better than he had on the Craig Kilborn show.
So by 7:00, we were already into the "signing" part of his appearance. We were toward the front, but even so we had to wait about half-an-hour to get up to see him. They had staff on the side, taking pictures if you provided the camera. I gave over my camera, so I got a few shots... however, I wanted to take a posed photo with Izzard, but completely forgot. =( Ah well. It was fun to meet him, in any case.
Good shot of Izzard!
Izzard & us.
Izzard & us, again.
After the signing, we left to eat at the mall, where we ended up staying to talk for quite a while. And when we got home, Liz went to do some homework or something (this is at 10:30pm already), and I decided to take a look at the DVD I'd just bought. It's the DVD of the show that's been running on HBO a lot lately, but it had some extras, like Izzard's performance in France, and some other things. I think it was worth it. I'm completely looking forward to his next tour. I know he'll be passing through NYC next year, I wonder if I'll be able to see him then. ::must remember!::

Date: 2002-12-11 03:14 pm (UTC)Let's see... Gale Harold (Brian), Hal Sparks (Michael), and Randy Harrison (Justin) were there. It was sooo awesome! Randy Harrison was wearing glasses and he actually looked so much older, and Hal Sparks was just sooo adorable -- he does great facial expressions. And Gale Harold was -- if you can believe it -- even more sexy in person!
I know I did an LJ entry on it.... it's somewhere in my archives. Unfortunately, I didn't have a digital camera at the time, so I didn't get easily uploadable pics. =(
