osarabaThe snow did not last til morning. It completely disappeared; there was absolutely no evidence that it had ever snowed at all during the night, and if I hadn't been up at 3am, I wouldn't have seen it! (And it was so pretty, big flakes and all!)
I worked today from 1 to about 5:30. Today wasn't my day to work, but we had another "new girl" briefly, but she already quit. I will never understand how people just "quit" by not showing up, with no notice or anything. And I'm not even talking about 2 weeks' notice, either... even a day-of notice would be preferable to nothing. And what makes it even more stupid is that the girl works at a store two doors down from ours, so she had to have known that the bosses would run into her sooner or later...
But in any case, we usually do well the day before Thanksgiving, so yesterday when I left, they asked me to come and work. I said that I wasn't sure, but I figured I'd probably come in... I need the money. And it was pretty busy today. After I left work, I stopped by TUMI to wish Aaron a happy Thanksgiving, and to find out how his pregnant girlfriend, Kathleen, is doing. I'd been thinking about it for the last two or three weeks, but I kept forgetting to ask. Apparently, Kathleen is due on December 16th, but last night they found out she's a centimeter dilated, and had a contraction. They said that if she hasn't gone into labor by the 16th, they're going to induce.
It's so weird... it feels like only a month or two ago that Aaron came into the store to tell me that they found out that Kathleen was pregnant! And now, the baby is almost here! (It's going to be a boy, by the way, and his name will be Noah Caleb.)
I have to say, while I really like Aaron as a friend -- he's so interesting and amusing, not to mention sarcastic and sharp-edged -- and would definitely consider him as a prime candidate for an unemotional romp in the hay, I feel heartily sorry for Kathleen for being in an emotional relationship with him. I can tell that he can be really heartless at times... and his penchant for unapologetic misogyny is scary. Definitely someone to put in the "don't take too seriously" category. Otherwise you'd be running the other way.
As for the store's new window displays, I was given a big surprise when Angelica said that she actually liked them. ::gag:: And that she thought I did a good job decorating the front window. I appreciate the compliment, but it's times like these when I remember how different our tastes can be (thank god). （だいじょうぶ、アンちゃん。じょうだんですよ。ほんとうに！） But here are the promised pictures. Now, Sharon, if you and DC go through Grand Central, you'll be able to spot our store!
