The house that Jack built.

Today we went to have brunch with my mom's first cousin, once removed (which makes him our first cousin, twice removed, as he tells it). His name is Charles, he has a wife named Eunice, and they're both 80 years old. For all that, they're pretty cool. Last time we saw them was about 10 years ago. I was in 5th grade (so about 10 or 11) and my sister was just 3 or 4 years old; she hardly remembers them. I remember meeting them, but I don't remember anything of the day.
We took a few pictures; in this one, from left to right are: Liz, me, my father, Eunice, Charles.
We had a big brunch with them at their hotel (the Crowne Plaza by LaGuardia Airport), chatting all the while, and then we headed back home. They're world travelers -- I know they've been to at least 13 foreign countries -- but they live in Houston. Nice people. Of course, I probably wouldn't want to see them daily, but I'm pretty antisocial that way.
So they didn't have time to come back to the house, so our big cleaning was for nothing. (Well, not nothing precisely 'cause it looks nice and all, but...) And I figured I'd take a pic of the dining room and the kitchen while they were all nice and neat and it was sunny outside. You can see the green canopy over the back patio through the kitchen window, and the patio doors just behind the dining room table. Oh, and the random rolly office chair at the dining room table is for my father until he's feeling better. ^_~ We usually have the 6th matching chair there.
I suppose I should post up a few pics of my own room (featuring cels, and other anime art) for any busybodies who are interested. Make sure to take a look, otherwise they're just using up some of my website space for nothing.
Wall to the left of the window over my bed.
--- Mosquiton, Mosquiton, Sailor Neptune, Kaiou Michiru, Tsukino Usagi
Wall next to boiler room door, across from foot of my bed.
--- Detail of: Duo cel, Duo douga
Wall across from side of my bed, above desk.
--- laminated pics of Mana and Kozi from Malice Mizer given to me and Liz by Louie
Wall above desk to the left.
--- Mana print, Malice Mizer chibis in crayon & ink, Chii in copic marker
Wall to the right of the desk.
--- Hotohori, Shidou, Fujimiya Aya, Kudou Youji, Recca & Mikagami
Wall across from head of my bed/opposite boiler room.
--- fansubs, TV/VCR/Stereo, more fansubs
Do you see what happens when you have too much time (and a digital camera) on your hands?! Ridiculous!

Okay, I looked at all the pics just so you wouldn't have used up that space on your site for nothing. I'm amazed at all the cels you've got. Of course, I'll live up to my name and say that I liked the Duo cels best. I've only found from the Odds and Evens eps, but Duo looks really good from what Ive seen.

I think the only cel I might like better than the Duo cel is the Usagi cel (it's just such a perfect scene... and she looks so pretty...). I've seen lots of Duo cels come and go on ebay and Yahoo!Japan. The only Duo cels I'm ever interested in buying are from this sequence (the flashback scenes, which is why the colors of the cel are sort of muted) -- I think the muted colors are really beautiful! But whenever I saw any of the cels from this sequence up for auction, I've always been outbid (I do have a budget, even when it comes to Duo). But this one was on ebay for a Buy Now of $140, so there was no way I could let it go. And the Duo sketch also comes from that sequence... I found it (not 2 days earlier than the Duo cel ebay auction) at the Dealers Room at AXNY for $50.
