Updates are tiring!
Jun. 24th, 2002 05:18 pmI did nothing the whole weekend, but update my abandoned fanfic archive, got fics?. I had been very good with it, until January when, for some reason - mostly work & school - I really didn't have time to update it. I felt really bad for neglecting it, but I didn't have the time to do anything with it. But apparently, the bug's come back and bit me on the ass and I've been paying for it by staying up insanely late, falling asleep at the keyboard while converting existing fics to slightly different HTML.
I have so many fics up at that site - and it's not even one of the bigger archives, like gwaddiction.com. I can't even imagine what it would be like if tyr (the webmistress of GWA) wanted to re-do the site. ::falls over::
I've been watching a little more anime than usual lately, which is good. I've been into a lot of the new anime, so I guess it's not that surprising. Hikaru no Go is really great, and I'm dying for thenext volume. I know it's been digisubbed up to at least episode 30, but it hasn't come out on VHS yet, so I'm still waiting. I had a short affair with IRC, but I don't like the idea of leaving my computer open to others for such a long period of time, not to mention the queues are insanely long, and you have to serve to have any privileges. In my opinion, WinMX is much better: simpler, faster. I've already downloaded Hikaru no Go episode 23 (I have up to 22 on VHS), but… wouldn't you know it - I don't have a certain codec to be able to view divx encoded files, so I don't get a visual. And I don't know how to find out which codec I'd need to download! ::bangs head on desk:: This is too frustrating… if anyone can help me with the divx codec thing for Windows Media Player or Real Jukebox, please drop me a line!
Besides Hikaru no Go, I saw the first three episodes of Tokyo Underground, which, although not great, is kawaii and entertaining. And for some unknown reason I have completely gotten hooked on the ending, Kakusei Toshi, sung by Akino Arai. It's really sweet and sappy, and so not my usual style, that I can't figure out why I like it so much, but I can't seem to help it. I spent a few days trying to find it and download it from WinMX - and finally succeeded, promptly burning it onto a CD with a few other songs that (sort of) fit, like the opening to Ayatsuri Sakon, and the opening and ending to Fruit Basket, and two songs by Lareine.
Odd mix, yes, I know.
There was more that I wanted to say, but I have to go…. o.O*
