day 29 - a song from your childhood

LOL, this is probably the most unexpected song in this whole meme; it's clearly not my usual style and it's certainly not the only song from my childhood, but I think of this song almost any time I think of going driving with my parents when I was young. The two things my family does together are eat and go for a drive. We'd often combine the two and go to a specific restaurant that took a long drive to get to, haha.
We went on a road trip for like a week through Pennsylvania and West Virginia and Maryland and DC and I can't even remember because I was 13 or 14 at the time; Liz was 6 or 7. And my parents like country music so we had that type of station, or like soft rock, on the radio a lot. And I HATED IT. Oh, how could my parents betray me by liking country music? UGH. This song was the only exception; I loved it EVERY SINGLE TIME IT PLAYED. Which was a lot.
The lyrics, oh the lyrics. I am such a sucker for sad things. I can't even tell you the extent of it.
Joshua Kadison's Jessie
Fave lines (the chorus just takes my breath away; always): jessie paint your pictures 'bout how it's gonna be / by now I should know better; your dreams are never free / but tell me all about our little trailer by the sea / jessie you can always sell any dream to me
List of all days.

ALSO! I had a dream last night about bumping into you in person! I've run into a couple of people lately I haven't seen in a long time, and then I was talking to this bartender yesterday who was from North Carolina, so I think my dreaming brain decided I wanted to give you a hug in person instead of just over the internets! *hugs*
