day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere

In our first year of college koyappi came over and hung out at NYU all the time. So in our second year, I returned the favor by hanging out at Hunter College just as much. Sometimes when I had no class for a long period of time I'd go over and sleep on the little circular 5th floor couches while waiting for her to get out of class.

This was during the time I started collecting Buck-Tick stuff -- albums, singles, books, etc. One morning in particular I'd gone to my p.o. box before going into the city so I had the newly acquired ドレス / 六月の沖縄 (Dress / Rokugatsu no Okinawa) 3" CD single.... which I then proceeded to listen to ON REPEAT for the next couple of hours.

I have so much love for Dress; it's a sexy motherfucking song (especially the Spicelab remix), but somehow it's Rokugatsu no Okinawa ("Okinawa in June") that will always remind me of curling up on the 5th floor couch at Hunter College. I've heard that they tore the couches out and redid everything. SAD.

Creepy! I was talking about those days the other day with Yoshi and Aisha. I think I even found our picture with the Star Wars Harrison Ford the other day. Oh and I was looking through our year books again... hysterical stuff!

Yeah, basically this is why Atsushi is the most awesome. Have you seen SweetStrangeLiveFilm (the video of the Sexy Stream Liner tour) where some instrument has to be retuned or they're having some sort of problem with something so Atsushi sings Cosmos a capella to the audience?
