day 02 - your least favorite song

osarabaAhaha, this one was hard to do, too! Same argument: THERE ARE SO MANY. I kept thinking of songs I used to like but now get annoyed at... mostly because I'd heard them too much -- either by choice, or because they were overplayed on the radio.
I'm sure there are songs I actively hate more than this one, but Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive is one that I've always disliked. It's kind of surprising, wouldn't you say? I mean, the narrator's in a sympathetic situation; the song is catchy; it's about a strong woman doing strong, positive things. I DON'T KNOW WHY I HATE IT. Partially it's the music -- I am SO not a fan of disco. But I think I could've gotten over that considering how catchy it is, how much it leans toward pop. But it only exacerbates my dislike.
Even though the negative is barely a third of the song, I get kind of stuck on it. I get angry that she didn't think to make him leave his key; I get angry that he's around again and trying to win her back. I can't seem to get past it. What is it they say about first impressions? *shrugs*
Line that irritates me most: i should have changed that stupid lock / i should have made you leave your key
