osarabaLast week I had nothing to read. Not a thing! I'd finished all the books that I had, and I was waiting for my holds at the library to be filled. And in the meanwhile, there was really nothing out/coming out at Barnes & Noble or other bookstores that I was interested in buying, or even reading there. And then on Wednesday, I think it was, I noticed that my nails had grown longer and I hadn't bitten any of them down to the quick!
WTF?!
Yes, I am an incessant nail-biter. I can't help myself. (Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I have a major oral fixation.) Anyway, putting two and two together, a light immediately binged over my head. The reason (one of them, anyway, but possibly the most major) I bite my nails is that when I read, I get all into the book and I bite my nails because of the anxiety/anticipation factor. ::smacks self upside head:: Of all the silly things.... but anyway, since I had nothing to read last week, my nails grew and I didn't bite them. Right now they aren't even past the top of my finger, but they're much longer than they've been in years. I think the last time they went just past the top of my finger, it was Junior High... somewhere between 7th and 8th grades.
I am astonished at myself. I don't know how long this will last (I actually like biting my nails, okay?), but for now I am content with the novelty of it.
Maybe I should take a photo?
