Personal canon get. WARNING: Extreme fangirling ahead.

I'm watching Inception again right now for the first time in weeks and weeks. (Okay, so maybe it's only actually been like 2.5 weeks since the last time I saw it. DETAILS.)

In any case. Basically. This post is just to say that mami_san WINS THE FUCKING INTERNETS FOREVER AND EVER. AND EVER.

Her Arthur-centric fic The Music Makers is SO FUCKING ON-TARGET for Arthur and Eames, and Cobb even. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. If it wasn't already my personal canon, it would be now. Watching the movie, all I can think of is YES. THIS IS HOW THEY GOT HERE. THIS IS EXACTLY HOW THEY CAME TO BE.

If you're open to an origin story for Arthur and Eames that is so fucking good I don't want the gen (as in, no slash) to end (and it still hasn't, really, as of chapter 9 out of ?) PLEASE GO READ IT RIGHT NOW. It follows the canon story, which Nolan has indicated in interviews &c (that they both have military backgrounds and were rivals of a sort). IT WILL BE WORTH IT. I ASSURE YOU. It's gritty, creative, well-researched, well thought-out, well written, realistic, believable. It's unfinished as of yet, but it's so good that even if she never finished it from this point on IT WOULD STILL HAVE BEEN WORTH IT.

HOW IS SHE SO GOOD? HOW DOES SHE KNOW THEM SO WELL?

I POSIT THAT SHE KNOWS THEM IRL.

OHMYGOD.

THIS IS AN ACTUAL AND LEGITIMATE CONCERN I HAVE. My only idea is to constantly catch up on fic on days when there are no games.

This is only problematic when I think about 1) how much fic is being posted on a daily basis and 2) how I will not have a life ever again, clearly.

I'm hoping chapter 10 goes up tonight, as per something she mentioned in one of the comments from chapter 9. I was hoping to reread 1-9 before reading 10, though. And since I STILL have like 35 fics to read before I'm caught up from the weekend, AND I'm still working on tonight's issue of inceptiondaily....

*pulls out hair*

But what's the other WIP you're following? =D

...at least I never pretended to try and keep up on the kinkmeme. HAHAHA I'd have to quit my job to stay abreast of all that.

the kinkmeme is SO MUCH EFFORT for relatively little payoff, i think. i wait and let other people rec me stuff from there. i'm sure i'm missing some great things, but...i am only human!

the other one is that rocknrolla crossover. i'm not crazy about that movie, but this is somehow still awesome.

OH YES. I'm following that one too, though I haven't read the last 2 parts. Hnnngh. I did love the movie -- it literally had me falling out of my chair with laughter... and took about an extra hour to watch because of all the time I had to pause and rewind because the laughter drowned out the sound. Hee. =D

Crossovers are dangerous, though! THEY MAKE YOU INTERESTED IN OTHER FANDOMS, WHAT! AS IF I HAVE ANY TIME FOR THAT! (I dl'd Generation Kill because of an Inception/GK crossover, though I haven't had time to watch it yet.)
