...in light of LJ's stupidity with the crossposting on Facebook and Twitter. (Yeah, clearly the powers-that-be don't understand that I'D FUCKING LIKE TO KEEP MY SOCIAL NETWORKS SEPARATE, THANKS.)

I therefore formally request that you NOT post links to any of my LJ posts on Twitter or Facebook (or anywhere outside of LJ, really). And I will be particularly happy to do the same for you. I never have before, and won't start now anyway.

As for the whole DW/LJ thing -- when some of my friends started migrating away from LJ (years ago), I considered following. But I have a permanent account on LJ and too many friends who have no reason to make the move, and would basically just like to stay. It's probably really dumb, but yeah. I would consider creating a DW account and crossposting, but timing is bad right now -- I really don't have the time to look into it. Then again, I wonder if I should ask someone for a code thingie so I can claim a username? Aka gave me one! Thanks, Aka!

FUCKING LJ.

You want one, I've got far more than I know what to do with.

Also, dear livejournal, you suck.

You can always dump your extra codes at dw_codesharing or in the [livejournal.com profile] news post. It seems like a lot of people are trying out Dreamwidth today...*g*

InsaneJournal is actually still alive and kicking - a good portion of the Harry Potter fandom moved over there, and a lot of LJ people did, too, during Strikethrough and similar kerfuffles.

Dreamwidth offers a lot of great things, but a couple of the important ones are: complete business transparency and a dedication to accessibility. For some people, that's more than enough reason to move. YMMV, of course.
