It might be a drop in the bucket, but it's part of his job. It doesn't take a huge effort to provide more information by choosing a different word. Are you deliberately missing my point because you feel I'm insulting all UPS employees? I'm willing to concede that the delivery guy has a more difficult job than I perhaps first thought, but I think there was a less argumentative way to bring that information to my attention, and I still don't think my reaction is unjustified.

I still think the delivery guy's words indicate a real lack of concern or courtesy for the person who is receiving the package. Do you think it's actually more likely that the delivery guy has such a trying job that on this day he slipped and failed to give as much info as possible?

I worked at a store in Grand Central Station for 4+ years and during that time had the same UPS delivery guy. I absolutely LOVED him; the whole terminal loved him. When UPS tried to switch delivery guys to our location, we protested and they switched him back. EVERYONE appreciated him and the care he took and courtesy he showed and how he went out of his way to help everyone on his route. So I'm just not buying that this delivery guy from Thursday gave a shit about doing his job with any sort of thoroughness.
