Three days of unexpected drinking!

Kris (cute Scottish bartender) and Derek (bartender who cheats on bets) are awesome guys to hang with while watching playoffs games! Also, I drank so many more drinks than I actually paid for. Which is always awesome. Though I suppose now I'm karmically paying for them because I feel like crap today.

Did not work on any fandom things this weekend, unfortunately. I'm still thinking about that RayK/Fraser/Lew thing and will definitely work on it this week!

Relatedly, in a moment of scared shitless; why the hell am I doing this, I signed up for meresy's C6D Porn Tag. Yay? The minimum is 300 words, so I figure I should be able to write something that short even if I go crazy with insecurity over it. Have not written slash pr0n in YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS, WHAT.

I generally like hard liquor straight, over mixed drinks. My favorites are tequila and gin & tonic! What are your faves?

Well, the RayK/Fraser/Lew thing that idreamedmusic and I started over in her LJ comments... the ball is in my court and I haven't forgotten about it even though I haven't really had the chance to follow up on it just yet!

I can (used to be able to?) write porn? I just haven't? In um, a while... I'm mostly worried about it being LAME. But this seems like a forgiving enough fandom. Hopefully it won't be that bad.

YES INDEED! Only part of the reason I return, but definitely the most pleasant part!

Aha! BEER! Now, when I was in Vienna they had Stiegl everywhere. And it seemed like it was the US equivalent of Heineken. I liked it a lot (I'd drink it all the time if I could find it here), but I get the feeling that it's a standard "cheap" beer over there? Is it common in Berlin too? I think I generally tend to like German beers, over say, US beers or British ales. OH I CAN'T WAIT! =D

Oh man. Beer in Germany is a science ;)

First off, beer is very regional in Germany (and Austria) No Stiegl here, though I'm sure you can get it in bigger stores.
Actually, you'll find most beers in supermarkets all over the country and "Getränkeshops" (stores that sell alcohol, juice, mineral water, wine - anything you can drink) have HUGE selections.
Major and popular beers like Becks, Radeberger or Königspilsner are served in bars everywhere. Plus some good ones from Poland, the Czech Republic, Ireland, etc.

Then each region and major city has their own beer(s) that are more popular there - Berliner Pilsner for Berlin for example, which is really good. Back home, Wernesgrüner is more popular (and my fav).

And then there are the really small breweries that only cater to local markets, so they can be tougher to find.

Finally, there are the cheapo beers that are popular with students and punks. Sternburg (usually called Sterni) for Berlin, for example. Not as good, but totally drinkable.

There's at lest one place in Berlin that offers 300 different beers ;)

Also, you'll love how cheap it is here. 60-70 cents for half a litre of really good beer. (Cheapo beer can be as low as 39-45 cents a bottle.)

Sorry to say, but I think most American beer sucks. There were some small breweries that had good beers, but Bud and co are pisswater.

I do love British Cider, though not techincally a beer.
