Aaah, thank you for all the links! I read the meta on Mary the Fan - lots of good stuff and I agree about everything, but the possibility that the kid was Joe's and not Billy's. That just doesn't work for me.
That whole scene just hast SO MUCH in it and I still haven't decided for myself if what John's saying is total BS or not...
