I'd fallen asleep so I missed the opening, but woke up when House and Cate (sp?) were talking over the TV, and she said she was the only one who had any control over her actions.
I enjoyed the banter and the kinda-flirting between House and Cate, and felt too bad at the end, though they didn't exactly wrap it up in a way that Cate could never be brought back into the plot, should the writers and Mira Sorvino be interested.
As for the development with Wilson...! OMG! That really came out of left field! I'd read in many an interview that they really liked CTB and kind of hoped to bring her back into the story, but I didn't see how they'd do it -- I never would have guessed that they'd make her Wilson's love interest! That's just, just weird! I feel like it's kind of a betrayal of House, even though I don't really ship House and Wilson. But I can deal with all of that because, if it's done well, it just means more angst for House (which I can almost never get enough of), AND it means that I get to see more of CTB, who was my FAVORITE of the potential ducklings and while I wasn't exactly surprised when she was fired, I was still disappointed.
My only worry is that there are too many characters now in this show and it'll turn into a nighttime soap opera. One of the things I liked so much about it is that there was a relatively small cast. I never thought they'd get rid of the original ducklings, but now that they're kind of down to one or two scenes an episode, I'd really rather just have them written off. I think I like Cameron EVEN LESS now, which I didn't think was even possible. I miss Chase a lot, but I feel like if Cameron goes, there's no way to justify keeping Chase around, and really, I wouldn't mind so much at this point.
I can't wait to see what develops with House and CTB. And Wilson, of course. Considering he claims to have "closed the deal" with CTB. o_O!
