I was spoiled for Sakujun's death. Not how, but still just the fact that he would die. Someone in saiunkoku didn't cut for FUCKING SPOILERY. I tried to pretend I didn't read it, and it worked until this episode. And then, I don't know if knowing that he was going to die made it worse, because I was waiting for it the whole time, knowing that it was going to be HIM instead of Seiran who would die, or what. But I think this is the only time I've ever fucking BAWLED watching an anime. With stuffy and runny nose and pass-the-box-of-kleenex, wait I might need more. And SHuurei. Oh, that BITCH Shuurei! How I want to KILL her! For not caring about him more than stupid Seiran. For not making him kanro cha. For not wanting to ADMIT that you cared for him more than you actually cared for him! For NOT PLAYING THE ERHU AND LEAVING HIM WHILE HE WAS DYING! For not realizing or not wanting to admit that he was dying.

I don't usually end up liking the villains more than the main character, or at least the secondary-character-but-still-a-protagonist-type. So I don't know if it's because Sakujun was just my FAVORITE type of character, the kind that I find irresistible in his complete and utter insanity, and disregard for anything or anyone who would get in his way (Nanjo Koji), or if it's because he was voiced by Koyasu (even though I haven't been a very dedicated miko anytime recently), or a combination of both, but oh god, I really REALLY fell in love with him. WHY DID HE HAVE TO GO AND DIE? And the perverse part of it is, that I PROBABLY LOVE HIM EVEN MORE BECAUSE HE DID DIE! And because of the way he died, and OMGTHEANGSTILOVEITSOOOOO!!!!11!1

And it's just SO FUCKING APPROPRIATE that it was Seiran and Sakujun. Midorikawa and Koyasu. FUCKING MIDORIKAWA AND FUCKING KOYASU!
