Kyou-kun ga dai suki!!!
Mar. 18th, 2002 05:27 pmI finally made myself a new LJ icon… it’s Kyou-kun from Fruit Basket. ::sigh:: I’ve really fallen head-over-heels for him. It’s funny, I’ve loved a lot of Seki Tomokazu’s characters, but have never really fallen for any of them. But Kyou is somehow irresistible! Moody, broody, quick temper, sweet as Hell… damn, am I sucker, or what?! He’s so protective and watchful of Touru that I can’t help wanting Touru to like him back as much as he obviously likes her (even if I’m not so hot about Touru herself). I mean, I love YAOI pairings, but I wouldn’t force one where there isn’t one (or where I don’t believe there to be one, anyway), and I do actually like het pairings (5x8 – from Gundam Wing is one of my faves, along with ArimaxMiyazawa from Kare Kano). And (I know I’m probably about to make some enemies for life by saying this, but…) I don’t want Yuki and Touru together! They’re way too nice to each other; there has to be some sort of life infused into that sort of relationship, which is where I think Kyou would fit well.
But aside from my current Kyou addiction (I saw a tottemo kawaii Kyou plushie on Yahoo! Japan that I am so dying over!), I am completely in love with Fruit Basket itself. I’m pretty sure it has the normal 26 episodes, but I think I had a dream about there being actually 34 episodes. Unfortunately, it really was only a dream. ::sigh:: In any case, the members of the juunishi are all kawaii in their own way… well, I guess I wouldn’t call Akito kawaii, but I can’t help liking his coldly evil personality. Then again, I’m only up to episode 16, so who knows what may develop in the next 10 episodes? I think I’m going to have to give in and start getting the manga.
So far, the only anime that I fell in love with so much as to actually buy the manga are (1) my favorite YAOI anime/manga, Zetsuai 1989 (and the sequel, BRONZE: Zetsuai after 1989), and (2) my favorite het anime/manga, Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou. ::sigh:: Have I mentioned what a sucker I am for school stories?
OMG, I just had a realization… if there’s anyone going to Otakon who is cosplaying Fruit Basket charas, then they are so going to be massively glomped by me!!!
