No, no. I meant to write Koji in a cel. Although the former image is quite intriguing… >_< But anyway, I just realized that I mentioned nothing about my receiving my package from Japan a few weeks ago! How I could neglect something of such importance I have no idea, but I did. So, to rectify, this is the story.

I saw some Zetsuai cels on Yahoo! Japan. Of course, not being able to read kanji prevented me from creating an ID. However, I knew (of) someone living in Japan at the moment, who is from Alabama. I sent her an email asking (begging) if she would create a Yahoo! Japan ID for herself and bid on a few things for me, seeing as how I could not let this RARE beyond belief chance to pass me by! Rare, because I have never seen a Zetsuai/BRONZE cel up on ebay, or Yahoo, or for sale on any sites. It was an unbelievable chance to win a dream cel of mine -- anything with Koji in it! (In case you hadn't guessed, Nanjo Koji is my absolute favorite guy in the whole world - followed very closely by Duo Maxwell - and I wish he was real and would obsess over me the way he obsesses over Izumi, that lucky bastard.)

So, the girl living in Japan - her name is Candace - she emailed me back saying that she would do it for me. I think I'll love her forever for allowing me to get my Koji cel. Anyway, I bid on several of the Zetsuai cels, but I can only afford so much, so I ended up losing the one that I really wanted, which is a close up of Koji's face, from below the eyes to the chin, with blood dripping down the side of his mouth. It's from the scene in the end of Zetsuai when Koji finally admits to Izumi that he loves him and there's lots of kirei blood all over the place. It's a great cel, with a to-die-for sketch. Unfortunately, I didn't win it. But I did win the most pathetic of the beautiful cels that were up for auction. Of course, since it's kirei to kanpeki anyway, I don't mind. It's all black and white, (unfortunately, without a sketch); it's the scene outside of Izumi's hospital room where Koji is talking to Izumi's sister, Serika, and there are some reporters behind him (although he doesn't know it yet) and then when Serika gasps, he turns around and is caught in a flash-photo. It's a good scene and a nice cel and I'm happy with it. Mostly, I'm thankful I got something!

I have several other cels, but nothing as rare as the Koji cel (6000 yen, roughly $60) (although one of them was more expensive). My Hotohori cel (an official reproduction, you know one of those with the green borders) was $70, one of my Mosquiton cels was a gift from Angelica (and probably not that much 'cause those don't go up that high), the other one was $30 (including shipping from Japan), my Aya cel was around $35, my Shidou cel (which I'm VERY proud of, even though the sketch is horrible, because he looks so good - it's a nice close-up of his face and shoulders) was about $45, and my most recent acquisition, my very first Michiru cel, was about $45 also.

I'm obviously not a big-time collector; I can't afford it. But I'm pretty happy with the ones I have. The only other cels I'm really actively looking for are (in order of priority): (1) a Duo Maxwell cel: I've seen a lot of them come and go, but nothing that really fits my mental image of him. What I really want is a cel of one of the 3 scenes in which he's holding onto that self-destruct button (see LJ icon above). (2) Arima and Miyazawa from Kare Kano!!! (3) Takahashi Ryousuke from Initial D, First Stage only, though. (4) Something from Fruit Basket, definitely with Kyou in it, but also may include Shigure, Ayame, Hatori, Akito, Touru, Hana-chan, Uo-chan, Hatsuharu. (5) Koganei Kaoru (with his weapon-thingy, I forgot what it's called) from Flame of Recca. I could probably think of a few other cels I'd like to have, but not at the moment.

Back to the Yahoo! Japan stuff, though… I also got a few other things, a Buck-Tick concert video, 2 Malice Mizer posters, a Minami Ozaki live, some other things… but the cel was the thing I absolutely needed.

Hmm. Busy tonight. Liz, Louie, Angelica and I are going to go see Resident Evil. I never played the game, but Angelica says it's stupid. Then again, maybe she's just spoiled by Tomb Raider. I hope the movie is good. I don't think I can take another bomb, like QOTD. ::shudder::

Liz has decided to buy me my 3rd cartilage piercing tonight 'cause she didn't give me a X-mas/New Year's/etc. gift either. So I'll be getting my ear pierced later on tonight. Again. That'll bring the total up to 10. O_O I didn't realize I had that many. And 7 of them are on one ear. ::laughs at self:: I don't think I would have gotten another one so soon, but today's the Ides of March, which, actually, happens to be the one-year anniversary of when I got my first cartilage piercing. Can you imagine? Only one year ago, I had practically virgin ears! (Well, not exactly, considering the one hole-per-lobe that I did have, actually had to be pierced twice.) But can you believe that I will have gotten eight piercings in one year?! @.@ Orooooo…

Oh! Book of the Moment:

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien (F)

SLIGHT itty bitty SPOILER WARNING

Surprisingly, the second book in the LOTR series is muuuuuuch better! More action, mostly. While it doesn't read like most of the SF/F I usually like, in comparison with The Fellowship of the Ring it's like comparing The Pledge with Terminator. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration. But sometimes it feels that way anyway. FOTR ends a bit before Boromir's death, and TT picks up right after Frodo and Sam have sailed away (still before Boromir dies). After following Strider, Gimli and Legolas (who are chasing after Merry and Pippin), it switches over to Merry and Pippin's points of view. Nothing like the boring wasteland the beginning of the first book was! If they do as good a job with the second part of the movie trilogy as they did with the first part (in comparison with the book), then I think we're in for a good show. Then again, I'm only on page 55, so I could be jumping the gun. But overall, I'm intrigued for now, and looking forward to reading more.
