Have you loved a manga today?

Read the Hikaru no Go manga over the weekend.

It is absolute love.

The end of the anime goes up to volume 17, I believe. From what I remember of the anime, I'd say that surprisingly the end of the anime felt kind of rushed in comparison to the end of that part of the manga. Volume 18 is mostly side-stories. But volumes 19 through 23 depict a new chapter in Hikaru's life of Go. It's really quite good and I can now see the Hikaru/Akira and Isumi/Waya much more clearly. ^^ Hikaru/Akira still wouldn't be my favorite (I just don't like Akira all that much, although definitely more than before), but I do very much enjoy being able to now see the friendship past the rivalry.

Hotta-sensei is just as blunt with us as she was throughout the rest of the story, and I love her more for it even while I want her to wrap the story up with a pretty bow. Obata-sensei's art is awesome all throughout, but we finally get to see Hikaru (and others) looking more mature, and let's face it, HOT. He loses the chubby-cheeked look and keeps the awesome hairstyle that was too cool for the kid he was, but now makes him bishounen. <3

I want more, dammit! I want to follow his trials as he moves up in the rankings! Why does it have to end here?!

You know I just found out that Hikaru No Go means "Learn to play go" Totally didnt know that.

Where'd you hear that? As far as I know, "Hikaru" doesn't mean anything having to do with learning ("manabu") or playing ("asobu") -- it can mean "light" (光), but it's also the main character's name. "No" means "of" (it's a possessive). So the title is most likely a play on "Hikaru's Go" and "the light of Go". ^^

Wait- do you mean end as in "there is no more to find" or "I need to get more"? I still want to read/ see it even after all this time

Not sure exactly what you mean, LOL. The anime ended at episode 72 or so a couple years ago, and the manga ended at volume 23 (although there were 2 "specials" released, each a chapter long I believe). So I have the complete manga, but I want more (that doesn't exist). =(

Really, and when I told them I thought they were lying they got all indignete abut me not trusting them. A friend of mine was like how they're going to have a manga no how to play Sudoku and it was going to be called "Hikaru no Sudoku". And I was like what? They said to me that "Hikaru no Go" ment how to play Go and I was like really? And they were like yeah and I was all your so lying and they got all indignete saying I should be more trusting then I saw your post and here we are.
