Well. It's Tuesday again, another day off. I finished watching the rest of Hikaru no Go, which was quite satisfying as well as irritating in its open-endedness. But I did like it very much. I'm impatient to see that "New Year's special" that Angelica told me is more like an hour-long episode or something. I was going to see the few episodes of Beck that I'd downloaded because Angelica had the episodes at her grandmother's house, so I wouldn't be able to get them until this week. Of course, it turned out that I didn't really have a chance to watch them until this week anyway. But then, to top it off, Liz deleted them from the computer! Go fucking figure. Dl'ing them for who knows how many hours, and then I still have to wait to get the CDs from Angelica. Luckily, Angelica brought them home with her today, so I'll be able to pick them up from her later, around 5, maybe. But it would really just figure if she decided not to bring eps 5 through whatever because I'd downloaded them.

In other, slightly cheerier news, Nebraska sent me her transliteration and translation of Buck-Tick's Sasayaki, so I updated my BT Shrine with those lyrics. I always knew it was a hot song, but it's really kirei...

I got that Creative Zen Micro mp3 player. It's cute. It's kind of weird being able to listen to such a wide variety of music -- and so many songs. It's almost like too many choices to be able to enjoy the music; I just can't decide what to listen to. I'll get used to it, I suppose. Apparently, Angelica "took my advice" and sold her Zen Extra (30gb) in order to buy a Zen Micro. LOL, I admit I'm not surprised. She asked me on Saturday how many songs I'd put on mine (230 at that point; I have about 300 or so now) and said she'd struggled to put 200 on hers. I had noticed when she first got the Zen Extra that there was a lack of volume considering the capacity of the drive...

Oh! I saw Constantine on Friday with Angelica, Maryann and Will in Sunnyside. Let me first say that it was pretty amusing -- it must've been a newbie handling the film or something because the film kept running off the reel and we were left with white screen several times during the film. But we did all get free movie vouchers for another time. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie (although I haven't read the comics, so I don't know if I might have been disappointed with the differences). I was quite surprised by how Catholic the story was... supernatural movies of this ilk tend to be that sort of religious that's so common that most people don't notice it anymore. But this was pretty in your face. I think that whole suicides-go-directly-to-Hell thing comes across pretty harsh to non-Catholics (maybe to them too?), but of course, I'm an atheist, so it would. But even though the fact that it was so strongly Catholicism-related was somewhat discomfiting, I also liked it for that -- it definitely wasn't the normal, numbness-inducing sort of religious-type imagery (sorry, all you Protestants out there). In short, it was possibly more discomfiting to a larger amount of people than the minority of non-Protestants in the country, and that makes me somewhat happy (but not in a vindictive sort of way), more like a, here, now you know what I feel like, sort of way.

But the movie itself was pretty cool -- Gabriel was awesome, I really loved that they chose a woman to play the part, making him more androgynous than he is usually portrayed. I like Constantine's dry wit, it's very my style (in the comic, he's British, which makes much sense, and Blonde, however, which is a bit disappointing since I prefer dark-haired guys). Although the fact that Gabriel was on earth (and a half-breed?) was a bit weird and inconsistent. There was no stupid romantic garbage! Not even a kiss, which was deeply satisfying! The teasers were just the right tone; they made it a joke, and didn't over-do it. At first I didn't realize that it was Gavin Rossdale playing Balthasar, but when I realized it, it was pretty amusing. It really makes me want to go read the comics, but (::groan::) I don't want to be just like everyone else who's now going to buy the comics just because the movie came out. I really hate that. Maybe I can order the graphic novels online somewhere where I won't have to shame myself by going into a comic store and having the employees sneer at me secretly (or openly).

Oh! One last thing -- I really, really loved Constantine's brass knuckles. I think Angelica said, during the movie, that they were kind of a pathetic weapon, but they were perfect in my opinion -- and a total turn-on; it's that whole beating the living crap out of someone with your own two hands kind of thing. ::sigh::

Brass Knuckles...

For some reason I'm getting hints of the way Schu got off on Brad beating people up from Dysfunctional. You are such a freak!

I'm surprised you didn't mention little boys in your post. Dirty girl.
