I think we waited for a total of 2 hours in line. But that's probably about an hour to get into the Museum in the morning (we got there around 8:45, the museum opens at 9:30), and maybe like 45 minutes or so on the McQueen exhibit line itself. It's hard to be sure since I was with a good friend and time passes quickly when you're having fun just chatting. =D
Neither of us ate breakfast (/dumb) so as soon as we got out of the exhibit we were starving and kind of ran out for lunch, so I don't know what the line was like by then (around 12:30-ish). And we've both been to the Met a million times before so we didn't stick around other than a quick detour through the contemporary art wing to see what's changed since we were there last (more than I was expecting, actually)!
It's possible the line to get into the museum would be shorter later in the day, but since it's the last weekend of the exhibit, it might not. THE EXHIBIT IS REALLY REALLY POPULAR. AND REALLY, REALLY CROWDED. =(

The Museum will offer extended hours during the exhibition’s final week. On Thursday and Friday, August 4 and 5, the exhibition will be open until 9:00 p.m. On its last two days—Saturday and Sunday, August 6 and 7—the exhibition will remain open until midnight. After 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, visitors may enter the Museum through the 81st Street entrance only.
