osarabaSo here's a little taste of what I've been doing at my parents' house this weekend: cleaning, mopping, scrubbing (MORE cleaning, mopping, scrubbing), SHOVELING FUCKING SNOW. Also, putting up mirrors. Oh, you know, EIGHT of them.
Now that I'm finally home, I've been watching the BBC show MISFITS as I am slowly being snowed in by the blizzard. (But I'm not complaining since work sent out SNOW DAY EMAILS!!!! W0000T!)
Started eps 1-2 a few weeks ago and loved it but since then haven't been in the mood to watch anything as I've been devouring fanfic, profic, and books like there's no tomorrow. Favorite characters from the start have been Nathan, Kelly and Simon. ...And realizing just now that I'm feeling a bit racist about that fact? Not that I don't like Curtis and Alisha too (in fact, I loved the Curtis-centric episode to pieces!), but they seem a bit passive... I dunno. I hope there's more there in season 2 that makes me squee about them.
Unfortunately, I was spoiled about Nathan's "powers" so the climax of the last episode (6) of season 1 was much less of a shocker than it should've been. I'm kind of pissed about it, but I can't blame anyone but myself really, even though it was purely accidental (I was scrolling past stuff on tumblr and my eyes just happened to catch it -- which, actually, was probably another reason I stopped watching for a few weeks).
But I'm glad I recced the show to Juliet, who in turn recced it back to me by saying she devoured it and moved on to season 2. I kind of love Nathan/Kelly and feel annoyed/frustrated/fascinated by Simon by turns. I do kind of have a weakness for sociopaths, though he isn't quite one (but there's potential!!).
MOST IMPORTANTLY, HAS ANYONE WRITTEN ANY INCEPTION/MISFTS FUSIONS OR CROSSOVERS YET?!!!! Because that needs to happen, like, ASAP!!!
I can't figure out exactly who I want to be who, and whether I want to base that choice on ability or personality. I want Arthur to be Nathan so bad, because I love them both the best and also because ARTHUR AS AN UNRELENTING PRICK IS A HUGE FUCKING KINK ALL ON ITS OWN, GUYS. PLEASE TO BE FILLING MY PROMPT, OH MAGICAL WRITERS OF FLIST!!!
Just saw 2x03. FUCKING WHAAAAT! I am not surprised Mysterious Superhero Guy was Simon come back from the future (I gave it 50% Simon, 25% Nathan, 25% Someone Else), but I AM UPSET OVER SUPPOSED ENDING OF NATHAN/KELLY. ASLKJDFLSAJFLSDKJ. But AHAHAHAHAH I absolutely LOOOOOOVE the future!Simon/Alisha. Misfits, you included time travel romance ALONG WITH TRAGIC MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH (SORT OF)! There is nothing I will not do for you now!
