I just finished watching The Devil Wears Prada. I really enjoyed it up to the last 20 minutes or so. It really disappointed me fucking pissed me off that it turned out to be just another innocent/moral country girl in the big, bad, corrupting city. Besides that, I think there was a HUGE difference between the relationship between Nigel and Miranda, and Emily and Andrea. Nigel had worked for Miranda for a long time and Miranda owed him a lot more than anything between Emily and Andrea. Emily treated Andrea like shit, always talked down to her. How was there even a comparison? How was Andrea so smart about everything else, but cannot see the difference in the relationships that Miranda was comparing? It's such bullshit! Morality is not black and white.
I really really hate that there are so many stories that have the sophisticated atmosphere being corrupt and immoral whereas the "down-to-earth" viewpoint is always the moral and righteous one.
What propaganda!
I'm so thankful that I didn't see this movie in the theater; I would have shot someone.
