SURF ROCK. I love it so much. I love to listen to it when I'm in a very specific sort of happy mood, certain circumstances, and yeah... when it's really sunny outside?

Of course I love the original version of this song by the Beach Boys, but you know it's David Lee Roth's raspy-voiced, super-sexualized solo cover of California Girls from the mid-80s that will forever reside in my heart.

Fave lines: well east coast girls are hip / i really dig those styles they wear

And there's just no way I could leave out my favorite; the iconic surf rock artist: Dick Dale's Misirlou -- even though the song has been around in some form or another for over 30 years before Dick Dale (and then the Beach Boys) recorded it.

List of all days.

Video of traffic at the intersection of 28th & Park shows the "bad habits" of pedestrians, cyclists & motorists. I don't think I agree that this necessarily calls for a revision of street traffic rules in NYC (pedestrians are pretty darn safe in metropolitan NYC), but this video is super fun to watch nonetheless!

I love the point (toward the end) when the videographer labels the "Agressive Yield" of the car toward the pedestrians. Yeah, have to say I really really hate it when drivers do that (though I will admit to having done that myself a handful of times).

This makes me want to re-read Traffic: Why We Drive the Way We Do (And What It Says About Us) by Tom Vanderbilt.
