Okay, obviously I didn't stick to my resolution to post more frequently. I don't know what happened. I was busy, lazy, tired, haven't been online for more than 40 minutes at a time... as a matter of fact, for the past few months I've been working longer hours than usual and I think it's translated into this unusual antipathy between me and my computer.
Since there's no way to possibly list all the stuff that's happened since my last post, I won't go into it all. Let's see if I can think of some highlights, though.
- The computer at work died mid-April. Two weeks and close to $1000 was spent before a new one was up and running again.
- I spilled some bleach on one of my favorite pairs of jeans and have been annoyed over that ever since.
+ I dyed the front of my hair blue. (And so I look like a walking Mets fan 'cause of the reddish-orange that is the rest of my hair, but oh well...)
- The collar of Angelica's cosplay outfit has been giving me problems, so I've been totally ignoring it in retaliation.
- People have been dropping off the Yuricon Volunteer list like flies in the past two weeks. Meanwhile, we didn't have very many to start with, and are stretched painfully tight for coverage of the 24-hour video rooms. I've been trying to get Maryann (a friend who will be coming with us to Otakon this year) to attend and help me out.
- I haven't been in the mood to watch anime lately, so I'm falling waaaay behind.
+ But I have been reading a lot, lately.
+ Another plus: I've sort of dipped my toe into the waters of the Gundam Wing fandom again. I read a few fics last weekend. Hopefully, I will plunge in rather than backing out again. At the very least, I hope to write a bit more than I have been.
I haven't done anything by way of bodymods lately, and I'm completely feeling the lack. At least I've made up my mind on a few things: (1) I'm not going to worry about my future backpiece right now. I can't make up my mind for the life of me, but it's okay, because I couldn't afford it right now anyway. (2) Instead of the backpiece, I want to add some stars going up my neck, above the star that's at the top of my spine. I'm pretty sure it won't be too expensive (I'm estimating $60-75), so I can theoretically afford it right now. I just have to pick a day, go to a tattoo parlor, and sit down to work out just what I want done. Easier said, though... (3) I decided against getting the 14ga or even 12ga talons that I talked about in March. After thinking on it, I realized that the thickness of 14 or 12ga wouldn't satisfy me for long... so why waste $30+ on something I'd soon be dissatisfied with? (4) Instead, I decided I'd gauge up to an 8ga (6ga at most) to accomodate a thicker talon. All I have to do is find an 8ga or 6ga talon, and then start stretching my ears (using CBRs, of course). But since I haven't yet really gone looking for an 8 or 6ga talon yet, I'm just going to go pick up two 12ga CBRs for my lobes and stretch them. (They're now a 14ga, so it's no biggie, yet.) (5) I think I'll try to get to Unimax on Tuesday, and drop off some anime for Eddie and Max, and pick up the 12ga CBRs, and a shorter barbell for my Industrial at the same time.
Okay, I'm really going to post more frequently, now that I've gotten back into it. Yeah.

Laurell K. Hamilton's Cerulean Sins was very very good. However, I was a bit pissed that the title wasn't a club in the story. All of the titles have been clubs or restaurants up til now and I don't understand why it had to change all of a sudden.
Mercedes Lackey's Joust is entertaining and interesting, although I haven't finished it yet.
Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's Avatar was cool; I think I mostly enjoyed the parts with the Yeshuites... they reminded me a lot of my childhood in an odd way. And I really loved how it was when Phedre had the name of god whithin her.
William Gibson's Neuromancer was an acid trip. A pointless acid trip, but interesting nonetheless. At the very least, it now allows me to read Idoru and All Tomorrow's Parties, which I've wanted to read.
Steve Perry's The Omega Cage was entertaining fun, and makes me want to read the rest of the goddamit-out-of-print Matador series.
Max Barry's Jennifer Government is odd, but its premise is very interesting... and I seem to be just as easily attracted by social commentaries as by sci-fi/fantasy or fluff. It's disgusting.
