So I got my UPS package. I am now the proud owner of a 64MB
Sony Memory Stick. ::throws streamers::
Let's see... after signing for the "package" (more like a padded envelope), I left to go meet Angelica at the mall. She had been at work at GCS and had gone to see Tony afterward to give him a few tapes. But the bastard wasn't in the store, so I'm going to have to try to bring them over to the store tomorrow (and he won't even be there 'cause it's his damn day off) or maybe Angelica and Liz can go on Friday to take it to him, since they'll be in the Village buying bleach and dye, anyway.
So I got to the mall at 2:30 and Angelica showed up around 2:45. We went to go eat; we were both starving. Then we came back to my house. It's been a while since Angelica's been over. Especially on a day where we actually get to
do something. She's long since stopped sleeping over in the middle of the week, and when she comes over on Fridays, we get home so late, plus I'm so tired from working
all day, that we barely do anything before I collapse and lose consciousness. (Which is why I send her on as many errands for me as possible on Fridays; so that she can wear herself out so that she's almost as tired as I am when it comes down to bedtime. ^_~)
So today, we got home around 3:45 or so? Something like that... maybe closer to 4. Anyway, we watched the rest of what I have of
Hikaru no Go, which is really good (I
so cannot wait for more!) At one point she leaned close to me and then jerked back while demonstrating something, except that her glasses got caught on my
new Industrial piercing and she tried her best to jerk the barbell out of my ear. "
Ite" does not
begin to describe the pain. I made a horribly undignified whimper-squeak and asked (rather idiotically, I think, but I was in pain) if it was bleeding. Of course, it was. (I forgot to mention that today the hole closest to my head was fine, but the hole farther away was a bit swollen and angry and secreting pus -- which I'm
sure you wanted to know.)
So in additon, it was then secreting blood. Well, I went downstairs and cleaned it up. A few minutes later, Liz came home and did some of her homework while we finished watching the last episode of
Hikaru no Go. After which, we all watched two episodes of
Prince of Tennis. We had dinner (Chinese take-out) and then Liz sat down to watch the
NY Rangers vs. Carolina game (which they won 4-1!!! ...did you know that it's been
nine years since they've
won a season opener?!), and Angelica and I went downstairs to finish up the
Prince of Tennis tape. It was really good. I'm having so much fun watching these two particular shounen anime. I know some people could take or leave
Prince of Tennis, but I don't know how anyone could resist
Hikaru no Go. The characters (and chara development) is great, and the plot is actually
going somewhere! Not to mention, it's satisfyingly
long; you don't get that slow build-up, and then that
wham!-everything-happens-in-the-last-four-episodes sort of anime. It's refreshing.
We found another roomie to replace the one that had gone AWOL! So that's good. We're going to have 4 of us in the room on Thursday night, and then 5 of us on Friday and Saturday nights. Boy is it going to be crowded in there. So far, two of the original girls (Erica and Nicky) seem very nice (although you never can tell... after all, I seem very nice over email, but deep down lurks a
chibi-akuma in disguise). In any case, I'm definitely looking forward to the con!
8 days and counting!I'm hoping that the pain in my lower back will go away by then. I pulled a muscle on Monday night while doing a sea-salt soak for my ear (bent over, holding my ear in a 1/4 teaspoon of sea-salt dissolved in a cup of hot water). At least it's more of a crick-in-the-neck type of pulled muscle where you can't turn your head for a few days, rather than a serious-injury type of pulled muscle. I happened to do this around 11pm (while I was watching
Beverly Hills Cop), so that first night I could only sleep scrunched into a fetal position. Tuesday was horrible. I had work in the morning from 8am to noon; I couldn't sit down for long, couldn't stand up for long, couldn't do any bending over -- I've been doing squats to pick things up from the floor. Then I had school until 4pm; I also had carried some heavy things with me that day. It was just not a good day. But on the way home I bought some
Ben-Gay. (Am I the only one who loves the smell of
Ben-Gay?)
By the time I got home (around 6:45pm), the muscle was a bit more loose than it had been all day. Today was a
lot better in comparison; although it still hurts, I can move a lot less stiffly today. For which I'm grateful and relieved; it indicates that I should be mostly better (if not completely) by
Yaoi-con. (I hope I didn't just jinx myself.)
I just realized that I have an appointment at my periodontist on Saturday. I really hope my sensitive ear is not going to get knocked around. I don't think it will, but it would just
figure if it does.
Current reading (
g e n e r a l i t y SPOILER -- no s p e c i f i c s):
Carol O'Connell's Crime School (6th in the Mallory series) has been great so far! I think I'm a bit past page 100, and although not a whole lot has developed about the murders, the reader is treated to a lot of background into Mallory's past -- along with Markowitz's and, surprisingly, Riker's roles in her adoption into Markowitz's family. At first, it isn't stated so clearly; you aren't quite sure of the implication of what you've just read. But inevitably, you're given more information, and slightly more information, and you come to this realization that completely throws out the whole premise of the supposed beginnings of Mallory and Markowitz's relationship, which had been emphasized and re-emphasized since the first line of the first book! It's really quite exciting to realize that there's even more about the mystery of Louis Markowitz lying dormant than you'd thought! Not to mention, you get to see a bit more of Mallory as a "kid," which is always cool.
Can't wait to see more
Chobits; I have about
eight full episodes that I haven't seen yet!
Kakkoii!!!
