Everything's happened so fast just now. In the past few days I went from planning to attend just one anime con (Otakon), to planning to attend four, with reservations and plane tickets at the ready.
Shoujocon:
Staying one night (Fri July 19 - Sat July 20), $100; round trip bus fare, $13; 2-day registration, $35.
Total: $98 each, in travel, accomodation, and registration.
Other expenses: food, spending money.
Otakon:
Staying 3 nights (Thu July 25 - Sun July 28), $405; round trip bus fare, $90 (but is free for Angelica and me, because our nice bosses are paying for our bus fare 'cause they couldn't afford a raise this year, so they're giving us bonuses instead); 3-day registration, $35.
Total: $121 each, in travel, accomodation, and registration.
Other expenses: food, spending money.
Anime Expo East:
Three days (Sat Aug 31 - Mon Sept 2); Since I live in NYC, I don't have to stay at a hotel, nor do I have to worry about travel expenses; 3-day registration, $50.
Total: $50 for registration.
Other expenses: food, spending money.
Yaoi-con:
Staying three nights (Thu Oct 17 - Sun Oct 20), approx. $375; round trip air fare, $232; round trip cab fare, $60; 3-day registration, $40.
Total: $490 each, in travel, accomodation, and registration. (*Of course, we're hoping to shave off about $63 by taking on one roommate, or about $94 if we take on two.)
Other expenses: food, spending money.
::gets dizzy just thinking about it::
When I mentioned our plans to Yvette (boss #1), she mentioned that she would give us each $100 in spending money for Yaoi-con. That would be SO fabulous, it would basically take care of the hotel fee! ::sigh:: Of course, it's 'cause she feels all guilty about not being able to give us a raise this year, but... hey, you take what you can get. And the $100 is a big deal in light of our expenses.
Hmm, if I estimate food expenses as $20 a day (not counting AX-East)... that's about $160. And I won't even estimate how much spending money will be... I think it'll be based on exactly how much we have left over...
But that brings the grand total up to: $819 for expenses. Iteeeeeeee!
